come on man I know you know football better than this as a coach. There are tangible things about going through progressions and feeling defenders that Stroud shows, that Fields still doesn’t show in year 3. Even if they ran the same Ohio State offense, CJ sure as hell understood a lot more nuances about it.

And part of that is getting to work with elite WRs… being in the film room with Wilson, Olave and Harrison Jr and having them communicate to you what they look for in terms of getting open, where you should place the ball in different situations, what keys to read etc… that will certainly make a young QB understand the technicalities of the game a lot faster if they can get that kind of insight. Same thing with Joe Burrow when he went to LSU.

I like our run defense but that’s not gonna win you a football game if you can’t get pressure against a backup OL. Without that interior pressure the QB always has somewhere to go in the pocket, and the OC always has plays he can call to avoid wide edge rushers

but did you really even watch Stroud in college or did you just assume he’d be the same as Fields, cause I noticed a huge difference every time I caught Stroud on TV

he’s been my favorite QB in this draft class the whole time for those reasons. Bryce is more “electric” but Stroud really GETS it and I think that’s gonna help him a lot in this league.

I know Howell has trouble with throwing the ball away but my god his line was absolutely horrendous yesterday. Given the narrative about the Houston OL all week you'd think they switched uniforms and played Buffalo yesterday.

 

I do take minor offense to “Demeco is clearly the best rookie HC and Stroud is clearly the best rookie QB” since Steichen and AR pre-concussion both cooked the Texans last week

 

It's only been 3 weeks but I saw a stat saying the Chargers and Cowboys have basically reversed their position in red zone efficiency. The Chargers absolutely cannot let Kellen Moore take an interview.

 

Steichen is the better rookie HC so far, ARich I dont know much yet, he had some good runs, i wouldve liked to see him play more after the script plays were done, its looking like his issue will be durability

The defense wouldve settled down and I think they wouldve played Richardson pretty well, Minshew came in and just shredded on short passes

Yeah, it's frustrating. OL is worse than bad and Howell holds the ball way too long despite having experienced being a ragdoll for three games now.

I'm really annoyed with their OC who doesn't seem to be accounting for this either. More quick passes are needed or maybe run from shotgun. and run the fucking ball my god. their RB is averaging 7+ ypc or something I think.
