Jason is smarter than me. But this has gotta chart bigger than 125,000?

  2. Zach Bryan debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 200,000 album-equivalent units, the largest week for a rock album in four years and Bryan's first number-one album. It also earned the largest streaming week for a rock album in Billboard chart history.

That's the best selling rock album of the year so far. Nine was just under 100k, California was 186k. My prediction is 125-140, but wouldn't be shocked if streaming for the singles pushed it above that, and wouldn't be that shocked if it was around 110. Less than 90 would shock me. More than 180 would shock me.

Stoked to read in the Liner Notes that Jason has heard good things about the “next video.” Are you allowed to confirm if it’s for Dance with Me?

Not sure how indicative it is of overall popularity but on Spotify Green Day has 32 million monthly listens, currently ranked 114th in the world. Compared to Blink’s 18 million monthly listens, ranked 340th.

Spotify listeners doesn’t mean all that much. The band Wheatus has 5 million monthly listeners…..I last saw them live as the opening act at a venue that held 500 people, and it wasn’t sold out. All it takes is one popular song to get placed on a few big playlists. It’s not indicative of their demand or draw.

My point being, yes Green Day has had more hits than Blink, probably charting higher too, and their American Idiot era has probably been unmatched by either band since. But right now in 2023, Blink is the much bigger band. Hell, I’d even say Blink has been the bigger band since 2016 back when the Skiba era began.

Judging by Travis’ giant Halloween decorations, he flew back to the states for this tour break. I wonder if we’ll get some press in the next week or so if they’re all back in the US?

Hot Take (?): Home Is Such A Lonely Place is a better ballad than OMT melodically and musically, but OMT's lyrics are much more powerful and impactful to a blink fan

Blink 182 is probably bigger ticket draw than Green Day in 2023/24 due to Tom being back, especially in North America.

I'd say green day is alot more popular with casual music fans in the UK, but blink has more diehard fans
