If the third verse of OMT had better lyrics - either more specific like at the beginning or more poetical - I'd be all in. Btw, are we sure Tom didn't record the chorus' vocals back in 2003?

As for MTYK, straight fire. It sounds much more forward looking than I was expecting. Heavy Turnstile vibes in the pre-chorus and in the drums.

  4. Thank god for lyric videos. I am fucking awful at deciphering what a song's lyrics are haha.

Completely agree... while the meaning was there in certain lines/songs from Neighborhoods... you had to really search for it and even reach to make a connection. This is so much more genuine, open, honest - I think Mark saying after the album/interview drops that "there won't be any tea left to spill" will be an understatement. Can't wait for it all.

Surprised no one has commented on frozen Travis at the start of the OMT video.

Is it just me or does anybody else also not give the slightest shit that Tom isn't playing an acoustic lol

This might be a top ten nitpick I've ever heard

I feel that it was recorded on an electric with an acoustic effect on it. No shits given. *high five*

    This.

I do not give a flying f*ck about it.

(The purpose was probably to boost comment section with topics to cover I guess :DD)

I will say idk why they would release One More Time as a single. Can’t imagine anyone besides super fans who care about their friendship would get anything out of that song. More Than You Know is cool.

Do you not have any friends/family that you haven't talked to/seen in a long time due to BS/no good reason?

Yea. I can’t think of anyone else who ever had a falling out before. What were they thinking?

It’s minor, obviously doesn’t make or break a video, and most people prob don’t even realize it, but it’s just one of those small things some notice. That’s all. I also easily notice when the guitar strumming isn’t in line or happening at all with the music, which happens so often in music videos. Very nitpicky, yes.

I would kind of doubt it was actually recorded that way (I would be surprised), but 100% this is the way Tom is going to play it live just like he does with "I Miss You".

I think more than anything, they weren't going to shoot a music video and NOT feature one of his new signature guitars lol.

Can’t believe they put out Stay Together For The Kids as a single. Only half of marriages end in divorce. That’s half the people in the world. The other half could never relate. Bad move, dudes.

This rollout has been so damn deliberate and well-planned. No way it's a coincidence that we get a single called EDGING and then a year later, we finally get Mark singing "they won't see me coming."

i feel like people can relate to almost anything in songs. it doesn't even have to be the whole song. just one line and that's enough to resonate with others imo. it can be interpreted in so many other ways in other people's minds

  23. I'll zag.

I think it's the perfect single as we move into fall and a lot of their fans are sitting in their thirties and early forties thinking about who they were as kids, the friends they used to have when school started, and ... the bridges burned. Relatable af.

    The Forgotten Son Supporter

Maybe. It sounds like they didn’t want a lot of documentation of recording, so we may never know for sure. But yea, that’s how it’ll be live for sure.
