It's too soon to say how it compares to Frankenstein, but the highs are definitely higher. Smoke Detector is amazing.

  5. only listened to the first four songs so far but turn off the house and deep end are so good!!

I wouldn't say it smashes Frankenstein, but it feels a little more immediate to me.

I don’t remember if I listened to “Weird Goodbyes” once when it dropped and forgot about it, or never listened. But hitting it here… this is the song some of y’all weirdos don’t like?

Also, this is obviously good, but I cannot relate at all to the sentiment that it’s much better than its earlier companion album, lol. Those couple opening pages of Frankenstein rule. Oh well, glad both of these get to exist regardless.

  8. Weird Goodbyes enjoyer here

No offense to all you alcoholics out there, but Pitchfork is fucking drunk. I only checked the score, but this is absurdly stupid:

"Did we really need this many more sullen piano ballads?" is a weird question to ask on this album but what do I know

Ok, I might not agree with “‘Weird Goodbyes’ bad” or “First Two Pages of Frankenstein lesser.” But, all those “Smoke Detector” posts are correct; that song slaps.

Way too many meetings for me to listen to this front to back during the day.

Going to take a long walk after work, get stoned, and dive in while enjoying the taste of fall weather.

  18. Alternatively stay in and mix weed with wine.

Deep End is fucking massive oh my god whaaaaaat

Monday would be best release day no question isnt it generally the busiest day on the internet as well? Only makes sense. Obviously Tuesdays would give writers and critics an extra day after the weekend to write, which probably makes Tuesday the best.

  25. So turn on the laugh track
    Everyone knows you're a wreck
    You're never this quiet
