Big Bill has put in a ton of work to improve since joining AEW. I’m honestly shocked at how far he has came since the Big Cass days. Regardless, the comparison is funny and shows how having two places to get TV exposure is a true blessing for wrestlers. Otherwise he’d probably still be floundering in Impact lol

Christian Cage is just gold. I know his aew debut was a bit underwhelming, but signing him was such a good move. Dude is so cool.

 

Him and Sting's debut both had me going LOLTNA but I'm so glad I was proved wrong.

 

Jade is an example why those long undefeated streaks can be dumb. They built her and pushed her so strong only for her to leave the promotion. And even though it was nice for Stat to get that win, Stat didnt need it to get over. They could have used a newer up and comer to get that shine.

 

Dear lord this is going to rule so hard.

 

They made Jade’s run feel unimportant by giving everyone who walked in the door a title match while she never interacted with any of the main wrestlers in the division. Still thought there was more they could do with the rematch against Statlander, though. The match they had on Rampage was the best she’s looked in the ring.

 

Face for life now in my book.

 

Also, clearly Jade was supposed to lose before Stat got hurt...and what did they do with jade in that nearly year-long period? Zero matches over 10 minutes. I'd bet an average match length of 2.5-3mins. Her biggest singles opponent was probably Nyla...spent most of her time facing her former jobber valets. No character growth, etc.

She got a lot better in the ring and more confident on the mic...but, if I were her, I'd have rather spent that year in the PC, working the NXT title scene, and getting the reps I badly need.

Aside from having two toxic fanbases in the same city, the only thing I think that's particularly bad about that is going back to Sunday PPVs.

 

Getting Mark Sterling as your manager is usually the kiss of death.

I think without him, Jade would have flopped hard early on. They were a solid Heyman/Brock style pairing.
