That Dance with Me clip sounds very Chasing Shadows EP

 

The lead guitar tone in the second clip sounds neighborhoods/AVA like to me, but the rhythm guitars sound very solid and toypaj like. As others have stated, I'm loving the production and massive wall of sound it has. 100% improvement over neighborhoods in that department, although that bar was low .

 

The hype is real. I am officially as excited as I have been for this release so far. LFG.

 

Pretty sure Aaron had a big part in Tom’s guitar tones too.

 

This is actually me. All the behind-the-scenes production work Travis did with Feldy has definitely influenced his production style. When he is doing it I feel a level of "ohhhh ahhhh" that would be pretty neutral if it was anyone else lol.

 

Everyone is hearing small snippets and pointing to past releases. I would prefer if this feels like its own thing. The energy and buy-in from the band is rad. It will be cool if Blink makes a record that feels right in 2023 rather than "recapturing the magic of X"

lmao that being said tom has been recycling the same 3 riffs for 30 years so we're bound to get some callbacks.

Def would rather Tom be more toypaj than trying to progress from Neighborhoods given a choice

What I hope from this version of the band is that this first record is a bit of a throwback and then they do a next one that pushes things further. Kinda like the California > Nine cycle

 

Interested to see how many of these they play when I see them Birmingham soon. They sound good, which is totally unexpected.
