Def didn’t get cancelled due to weather. Which we are all figuring out now but in case anyone had any doubts.

What's the over/under on them attempting to make this work again next year lmao

Being honest, I hope they do, but make all the proper changes they need to in order to make it work properly. If I were able to go to this thing and if it had panned out more favorably, I would've been extremely stoked as it was a massive lineup. But a thing like this also shouldn't be half-assed, and clearly it was.

It’s been half assed three years in a row. At this point it’s a public safety concern and the organizers should not be allowed to put on a festival anywhere ever again.

They need to be done, Sly and Stone have proven they can’t do this safely and properly and it’s gonna cost lives if this keeps going on.

Well clearly I don't want anything life-threatening to happen and it's not that I want these particular people involved for any reason.

I just wish there was a good festival destination for something like what they're trying to do. The fan-voted lineup is/was a cool idea and getting some bands to make special appearances and reunions in that particular scene is something I am very onboard with.

Oh yeah, as someone that's extremely jealous of European rock festival circuits, I'd 100% love to see a whole-assed version of this work, even if the writing's on the wall from the past three years that that isn't the case.

Just pass the fest to DWP. He seems to know what he’s doing

I wonder if Sum 41 breaking up will mean more activity from Gob.

For the most part yeah. Only issue I see with DWP is having Rockville in May when at least one day gets rained out every year

Tom Thacker, frontman for Gob, took over for Brownsound when he left the band. He’s still with them now that Brownsound is back, they just play with three guitarists live

so if anybody is more into the whole "y'allternative" scene and likes music festivals that aren't flaming dumpsters in virginia, bristol rhythm and roots reunion (partially in virginia, partially in tennessee) was an incredibly well-run festival, even with the lightning delays.

I work in an industry outside of music but I connect with CAA fairly regularly and heard that they’re trying to whip up openers for a major tour in late summer ‘24. The options include Scowl, Girl In Red and 24kGoldn.

Probably a dumb question but... CAA? What does that acronym stand for?

Maybe Turnstile will have a new album out by next year. I could see a Turnstile tour with a mixed bill that’s like, one hardcore band, one indie band, and a hip hop act or a more alt-askew band

EDIT: Basically like their fall tour last year
