I watched Evil Dead (2013) this morning. Probably the most violent film I've ever seen, ha.

 

Manhunter is fantastic. Don't even bother with Red Dragon. I still prefer Hopkins' Lecter (at least in the films) over Cox's, but all the performances in this are solid.

Thanks to the person who suggested a V/H/S & Jeepers Creepers double feature

i think I'm gonna do VHS 1 & 2 just because (also that anti-christ cult vignette is probably my favorite out of all of them), and then Jeepers Creepers.

 

Not entirely horror, but I'm seeing the Twin Peaks movie tonight at a theater showing it on 35mm. Fire Walk With Me. From what I understand it isn't very good, but I'm hoping a few beers will make it more enjoyable haha. Maybe I'll be surprised.

 

Idk I'm pretty sure @adammmmm holds it in very high regard, and plus TP is amazing.

 

I loved the show. I wouldn't touch the movie if I didn't. I'll have my own opinion on the movie in a few more hours. I'm hoping for a surprise, just not counting on it.

 

I also went into the movie under the impression that it was going to be a let down due to all the negative reception I'd heard, and honestly, I'm pretty impressionable - so I was super surprised when I found the movie to be every bit as powerful and deserving of praise as the show. Interested to hear what you think of it

 

Have you watched the TV series? Because I made the mistake 10 years ago watching the movie before the series so I found out who Laura's killer was. I still loved the series when I watched it years later.

 

Yea I watched the series. No spoilers for me haha.

I'll definitely let you know. It's improving my outlook hearing multiple people here have enjoyed the movie.

 

My advice is to just try and immerse yourself for the full runtime, you know? I think if you love the world of Twin Peaks, the movie will do something for you

 

It's horror, trust me, lol. It's my favorite movie, hope you like it

 

Yeah, I actually tend to hear great things about Fire Walk With Me, but I still haven't seen it.

 

Nothing but love for the film, this is looking good. You guys are going to send me in there with high expectations haha

Roommates are all out for the night so I decided to take a break from the movies and spend the night watching a few episodes of Tales from the Crypt. So good

 

Man it's been a while since I've seen the original TCM, but the hitchhiker scene makes the remake hitchhiker scene look so tame. Watching it right now, and it seriously creeps the hell out of me.

 

TP was bizarre, but a lot of fun. I can't imagine what a film like that would have done to people who hadn't seen the series. Puts me in the mood to rewatch the tv show.

 

Placed my first Scream Factory order last night. Dolls + Night of the Demons. If any of you haven't seen either, please do. Dolls is a movie I saw first as a kid that left a lasting impression, and when I watched it again a couple of months ago I was shocked to discover how well it holds up. People have described it as a fairy tale for adults, and that's spot on. It's fun, it's creepy as hell and it's directed by Stuart Gordon. Night of the Demons is my favorite cult horror movie of all time. It never, EVER gets old. Just an absolute blast. I saw it in a theater last year and the guy behind me was just shouting, "WHAAATTTT?!??!?!!" every five minutes and it made it even better.

 

Twin Peaks is my favorite tv show, tied with the sopranos

 

Just watched Rosemary's Baby and now the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the first time and I really enjoyed both (I like watching scary movies I haven't seen every halloween, but still have to watch the classics: Halloween, Friday The 13th parts 1 and 2; Hocus Pocus, Nightmare Before Christmas)
