Fifth album with Mark, Tom and Travis. That's my headcanon reasoning.

That +44 article was wild. I don't remember ever hearing mark comment directly about AVA. Pretty savage takedown. Love the shade about the haircut for levity though. I remember vividly the rolling stone article from this last time when they moved on without him. Tom did this lengthy post in response and one of the Instagram comments was just "y u lie" and it was an inside joke with a group of friends for years after.

I love the +44 album and wouldn't change it, but I do wish we had a release of Travis, Mark, and a female vocalist that is heavy on electronics. Punk rock postal service would have been super cool. I remember the demo had Carol on backing vocals for No it isn't and being bummed when the studio release had Craig instead. It was overall just a really cool vibe.

 

I don't aaaaactually think Aerosmith is better than Prince. I just like telling him they are to make him squirm.

But yes, I do have legitimate takes that people like you find bad. And that's fine. It goes both ways haha.

 

I don't think you actually think FOAM is better than Nimrod either.

 

Mark's take about AvA's (early) songs being too drawn out, never going anywhere and all running together is pretty much a spot-on take......one that would now get torn to shreds on the blink subreddit. ha.

 

I couldn't tell you what songs are even on Nimrod specifically. But I can tell you that, lately, I listen to the songs on FOAM that I like more often than other Green Day songs I like. I really don't listen to any Green Day album in full when I feel like listening to them. Also, why does everyone care?

I don’t know about that. My point was that this is the first album they’ve done since untitled that all three seem to be together and on the same page. Obviously Tom wasn’t involved with the last two, so those don’t count. We all know how Neighborhoods went down. So that takes us back to untitled.

Well, now because you admitted you say things to people IRL to get a reaction from them I think you do it here too. The hot takes get a Mark Face side eye from me.

 

I've listened to the older Green Day songs I love a million times. There were a few albums between American Idiot and FOAM that I didn't get into at all. So it's nice finally having some new Green Day songs I personally actually enjoy. Sue me, haha.

 

Maybe I do, maybe I don't.

I really would rather listen to Hilary Duff than Bruce Springsteen though, without any hesitation.

 

I think the BCR album sounds better with Mark’s input/ideas (even though I really like the BCR album as it is now) and it would probably lead to an Untitled like follow up. I think in any alternate time line Tom quits unless The Terminator travels back in time and kills Bono before U2 becomes famous.

lol he kept insisting that these two brothers (who are carpenters on the tour) are actually the non-Chris Martin members of Coldplay. They walked by and he said "big fans, I love 'Yellow', one of my favorite songs" and they were confused as hell.
