With some of the changes to the way streaming counts towards album sales, I think there is a legit argument to be made about doing this. I get why bands/labels still want those bigger first week numbers, but I sort of agree with you.

 

No one wants to invest in an entire plant since it will take years to pay off that kind of investment, and there's no guarantee the vinyl bubble will last that long.

 

I think the Record Store Day bubble is beginning to burst at least. I still see rows and rows of marked down reissues at my local place. Who would have thought a thousand-plus press of Sublime's demo wouldn't sell?

I'll buy that last bit. Definitely makes sense. The part about streaming early was mostly wishful thinking on my part haha.
Also, I really hope they release it at the beginning of 2017 because if they wait until Spring then it will pretty much be a whole year from finishing recording to releasing the record haha. That seems fucking ludicrous.

Cool album artwork, if that is it. Disappointed we still have another three months to wait though.

Bad Catholics is really good. I prefer Lookers, but this album is going to be something special.
