AITA: Fired from job because of friend's actions?

About a year and a half ago, I started at a new company, really up and coming in my super niche industry. I was working for the main competitor, but unfortunately got laid off. One of my oldest friends is buddies with the owner of the company, so he got me a new job.

Unbeknownst to me, my friend was already involved in several personal conflicts with coworkers, especially some of the Executive Vice Presidents. One thing led to another, and after a tense discussion during a meeting, my friend got into a physical altercation with several of the Executive Vice Presidents. Being in the room at the time, I needed to protect my friend's dog (we have a very dog friendly work place) and regretfully got involved in the altercation, but I had my own issues and needed to just bite in and take the issue head on.

Well, as a result of the altercation, everyone involved was suspended, including me and my friend. We work in a heavily physical environment and prior to the fight, my friend had a workplace injury so he was not able to work for several months beyond the suspension. I'd also like to note the other parties in the fight had zero discipline.

Eventually, my friend went back to work and the company offered me a WFH position working exclusively with my friend. They even gave me backpay from my suspension! However, one thing led to another and my friend got into another physical altercation with a new employee thinking he knows more than my friend (which is for sure!). My friend was fired with cause by the company, but even though I wasn't near the 2nd altercation (which occurred while they were traveling for the company) I also got fired a week later! I didn't even do anything. AITA?
