If they’re forming coalitions with people who are nazis or nazi-adjacent, i don’t see them as necessarily having qualms about things like this, no. And, as i said earlier, it’s not as if i think the invasion of Ukraine is not raising anti-Russian sentiment. But flattening the Soviet Union during WWII in with Putin’s Russia today is something that I think is hard to argue wouldn’t be useful for right wing nationalists who want to rehabilitate nazis.

There’s people who had a mental rolodex (justifiably so) of every Trump associate with white nationalist ties who now seem to think that being in coalition with nazi-adjacent parties doesn’t warrant closer inspection of how recent events may be used to advance certain aims/narratives. Wild to me.

I mean it seems to be both the invasion and growing right wing nationalism (which comes with anti-communism and holds hands with liberals like in the US) in Eastern Europe. I don’t think it’s that complicated.

I might be a fool for genuinely thinking the US may have done it by accident.

So is the reason that the right wing nationalists in the US love Putin while the ones in Europe hate him is that Putin is a direct threat to the Euro nationalists? Where as the ones here can see Putin as a blueprint, not worried that Russia will ever invade or actually threaten us?

I feel like you’re more likely to find weird online PatSoc supporters of Putin than the standard US right wing nationalist.

Tbf I think Putin’s own recent statements (not to mention actions) have helped conflate the two. If I’m not mistaken, he’s said more than a few things since Ukraine started that sound a little “getting the bloc back together” ish haha

  9. The defense minister in the quote I pasted is not even in National Alliance, he was in the Popular Party, the "middle" of the three parties in government. He's been replaced by someone from National Alliance.

The political debates are nothing compared to the vitriol thrown around when pineapple is discussed in the context of potential pizza toppings.

I mean it’s clear to me why Americas white nationalists would see common cause with Ukraine. First line of defense between the west and Sauron’s orc hordes and whatnot.

    Everybody can play this game:

I don't think neo-Nazi Blood Tribe leader Christopher Pohlhaus is a good representation of the average Joe Biden voter. This
is actually a good question though - we currently have the MAGA wing of the Republican party openly embracing Vladimir Putin and Russia in a surprising way.
