The punk feud probably helped fans buy into MJF being the guy

I do think the talking point that Punk put over all this young talent is misguided at best but I really do think MJF’s feud with Punk helped a lot with his rise

Im also of the belief that losing to Punk was good for people. It was good for Darby. It was good for MJF (sorta like the KO/Cena feud). It'd have been good for Ricky Starks, honestly.

But MJF was definitely planned to come back as a huge heel...he was building "The Devil" character side...and then suddenly he got thrust into a place where the crowd wanted to cheer him.

I can give you counterpoints but whats the point it's all subjective. Punk did great things, Punk did terrible things that have completely dismantled the great morale that was there before him, it's a wash.

There's 100% a Rampage simply because it cost them almost no money (think the rumor was $20mil/yr...which is like 400k/episode...even reality TV isnt that cheap) and they had nothing else to run in the time slot.

But decent odds Collision doesnt happen without him...though even there, I dont think we've actually seen a huge money investment like say, FOX going and getting WWE.
