Guys it's great that Tom is back and fully into blink, but we don't need to embrace Neighborhoods because of that

 

Even If She Falls is the best first reunion song and it’s completely ignored by the band. A TRAVISty.

 

Yea man I’m usually on aboard with you…but this time I can’t agree haha.
It’s all good,I get people like Nine’s production.I do not.It doesn’t matter if it’s cleaner than Neighborhoods.Something’s just off with NINE’s sound.
I like California sound and I’ll say it doesn’t sound forced to me at all.I think they nailed perfectly what they were going for.

I’ll still take Buddha over Cali and Nine.Sorry.

Neighborhoods is perfect for when hell freezes over

 

Wild that This is Home & MH.4.18.2011 made the album. I like them as songs but they are oddballs on the final record and sound a lot more like leftover bonus tracks. Biggest example of Mark and Tom doing their own thing without much collaboration or communication.

Interesting when mark was left to his own devices in that era he was writing pretty straight forward punk songs or getting weird with electronics. Most recently he is leaning into much more modern pop writing. Everyone talks about Tom writing AVA songs around the time of the first reunion but mark’s contributions sound very +44 as well.

Love this album for what it is. Very much a product of its time.

 

It's still funny to me how awful the production on Natives is. Actually one of the few songs on Neighborhoods I love but after a while I just never would listen to it cause it sounds SO bad right from the jump.

 

I sold it to a record shop when I got the official one lol

 

i believe that’s one of the copies i have. i got the real thing now, never really knew what to do with the bootleg after that haha.

Tom could have been swapped out with a chicken using its beak to peck out notes and Neighborhoods would still have good songs on it.

 

I assume I will never be able to find a real copy for a reasonable price, so if you plan to split with it, I might be interested.

 

I don't browse this thread to read pages of delusional people calling Neighborhoods good, that's for sure.

 

i love blink-182 but i can admit when their stuff is booty. neighborhoods is half baked and DED is …… something.

 

And that something is very good!

 

DED’s tracklist is in order from best to worst, which is nice.

The “best” first reunion song is still not very good though. It’s a low bar to be the best on Neighborhoods.

 

Not as low as the two albums that follow

 

People who hate on the Skiba albums are just telling on themselves.

 

I don't hate them, some of the songs are good! Most just don't do it for me at all. I really wish I felt differently, I love Skiba.

 

Blink hasn’t released a flawless album in 20 years, which is kind of crazy to realize, but is also ok.

 

I have a feeling this new album is going to be their best since untitled

 

All their albums are flawed in some way. Some are just flawed at their foundation (Neighborhoods).
