It's too fucking good.

 

so before this i had sbtrkt on and a few track into this i thought i still had that new sbtrkt on. not at all a bad thing, i think this sound very much like his take on dark moody R&B and given how much i love sbtrkt (well his newest and his first) i think its a huge compliment, they take a lot of cues in terms of the percussion and synthesizers imo. obviously its the voice setting it apart from your typical electronic music indebted to r&b, and the voice is stellar even if the lyrics are about as cliche for the genre as they come.

 

wow the title track is some FIYAAAAA that fuckin bass!

 

This is excellent

 

I was worried the songs they released before the album would end up being the best tracks on here, but that's not the case at all. "With Me", "Hallucinations" and "The Line" are certainly all highlights, but so are "Do It Well" and "Angela". This is great front to back imo.

 

This has basically dominated my listening for a week+ now.

 

so is this pronounced "division" or just saying out the letters or what?

 

yeah according to wikipedia it's just pronounced as "division"

 

Just listened for first time and I love this so much jesus christ. Feels flawless.

Saw this on Apple Music as well - seemed like something aligned with my current tastes. Excited to check it out.

 

Damn I can't believe I just saw the thread for this now! This has been my obsession since this weekend, just an incredible record. I love how their songs feel modern yet indebted to timeless songwriting traditions at the same time. "The Line" is honestly a masterful closing track... the fact that I forgot to check these guys out and hadn't listened to any of the tracks before hearing the whole album made the experience that much better.

 

Yeah same tbh. That and Majid Jordan.

I don't think there's anything I dislike on this, at all

 

Opening for Summer Sixteen tour which is incredible because I so want to see these songs. Also rumored guest on the album. Was curious when Drake would acknowledge him

 

Their part on Views is sick. And this album still holds up great.

 

How is this album so good? If this isn't in my top 5 at the end of the year, I'll be surprised.

4 months on and I'm still really enjoying this album. It'll more than likely be in my top 10 for the year.

 

Apparently there was a dvsn remix of Frank Ocean's "Godspeed" played on today's episode of OVOSound Radio. Excited to hear that, their remixes so far have been dope.
