Player's Log: Trails In The Sky SC.

Started the second game, finished the first dungeon and saved right after, that's where I'm leaving off tonight.

Like with the first game, I am using a trainer, this time granting me true infinite CP and infinite currency. I actually ended up spending money at someone's Patreon to get the code table. The guy seems to have code tables/trainers for a lot of RPG type games, including all the other Trails games, so I think it was a fine purchase. I could have only spent a dollar, but I decided not to be a shmuck and spent ten.

I also decided to go back to Japanese voices and in-game music instead of listening to whatever. We'll see how long I last before I get bored of it, but I think I'm going to try to stick with it, as the voices gives the dialogue ten times more oomph.

For example, the opening scene where Estelle chews out her dad is so much better when she's screaming "BAKA!", and when she's in extreme denial about Joshua's departure, the vocal work sells it.

The only reason I get antsy about voice acting in games like this is because I wish the dialogue progressed automatically. I never know when the voices are done so I either end up going forward too early and cutting off dialogue or waiting much longer than necessary. It's a chore, I guess.

Although in this scenario I know it's partially because this version of the game isn't supposed to have voice work; I patched it in, so of course it wouldn't have QOL options for it.

Oh well, such as life in RPG land.

I’ve never played a Bethesda game in 3rd person but from what I’ve seen, that might change today

 

3rd person > first person

 

1st person all day every day. I’m absolutely going to play around with 3rd in Starfield; especially to see how much they have improved the mechanics, but I’m 1st person die hard with these.

I’ve never been this excited to listen to a damn video game Podcast as I am with the review embargo for Starfield. IGN Unlocked and Kinda Funny’s Xcast. I’m most excited to hear Paris about it.

 

Imagine playing a Bethesda RPG in third person. Yuck.

It'll be interesting to see what reviewers have to say but honestly, I'm a bit more curious about the DF content. Both the console and PC videos. They've probably been having a field day with it whether it's good or bad.
