incredibly special album. brave faces everyone had a few songs that hit super hard and a few that left something to be desired. everything on this album left me stunned.

 

Definitely a slower burn than I thought it would be. Gonna have to listen to it some more and read the lyrics

 

It is exactly this for me as well. The way the band finally left the horses out and fucking ROARS on the closer is the only thing I think it is sort of missing. I do really like the americana influences, but they do raw and loud so well. There are so many gorgeous melodies on here that I think will translate lives, and have a little bit more bark and bite with a guitar thrown in.

 

The last track is very easily the best

 

Man I only listened to Haunted like once pre-release, what a song that is. “It’ll be this bleak forever… but it is a way to live”

 

This is great. No question. Wanna dig in a little more to a few songs this weekend but this exceeded my expectations.

 

I liked everything about this except the lyrics. Hopefully it grows on me more but I feel like if I’m gonna listen to something this self deprecating and hopeless Id rather just go listen to BFE for the angst

 

I for one definitely love that style of lyrics in SLS for sure, so I'm glad that's there. After my first listen I think I still need it to grow on me, but I'm not worried after loving the singles after a couple listens only.

Here You Are is not the first song off this album that reminds me of (No) Reason to Believe, but it is the most obvious.

 

Not including the first 3 pre released, I’d say Lifers, Here You Are, & I’m Gonna Miss Everything are my immediate favorites after 2 days.

This is great because I didn’t include the last one, which I love. And several others. I love this album.

I’ve listened to this a few more times and it’s really starting to click. So many earworms and moments that stand out on this album. I really love the increased use of synths throughout this and how the band has evolved their sound following BFE.

 

I want this band to blow up so damn big.

I expand on the feeling a little in my review whenever that goes up but it feels like this band were cheated out of a Moment with releasing an album a month before a pandemic and they're so deserving of a reclaim

 

YES, you get it.

 

This really is their best album. One of those cases where as much as I love the previous two records, this is such an obvious step up that I feel like I don't even have to consider whether it's just because it's new and I'm excited.

 

I absolutely loved BFE but my wife pointed out he sounds like a goat and I can’t get it out of my head lol

 

They did Mutable an injustice with that tempo

 

I don’t really understand drumming at a technical level, but this guy is doing something all over this album that just DRIVES these choruses and really helps the melodies stick out for me.

 

Ruben is so good and doesn't get his flowers anywhere near as often as he should. Album's got more breathing room so you can hear what everyone's doing more easily and MAN does he bring his best.
