I HAVE GOOD REASON, I kept breaking all my bows for the 2nd phase ganon fight and i had NO idea that kurok seeds give you extra weapon slots so I NEVER collected them. So i just said fuckkkk this and watched a youtube vid of it finishing.

Time for my Eagles 53-man roster prediction that ultimately doesn’t matter

Quarterback (3): Jalen Hurts, Marcus Mariota, Tanner McKee

Hurts is good at football. Mariota stunk last year and I wanted to believe he would look better with the Eagles instead of the Falcons. Turns out, he just stinks. Please stay healthy Hurts. McKee looked solid in the preseason against backups and roster bubble guys, but I’m not ready to suggest that he should be this team’s unquestioned backup over Mariota.

Running Back (4): D’Andre Swift, Kenny Gainwell, Rashaad Penny, Boston Scott

I think this is going to be a three-man rotation. I think Swift will be the team’s primary early-down back, getting most of the runs and some designed targets. I think Gainwell maintains his role as the team’s passing down and hurry-up back. I think Penny will chip in on some early downs to spell Swift and I think he’ll also have a role in short yardage and goal line situations. I expect Scott to be a healthy scratch and suiting up when one of the top three miss time.

Wide Receiver (5): AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Quez Watkins, Olamide Zaccheaus, Britain Covey

Brown and Smith are one of the best WR duos in the league. Quez was having himself a good camp before suffering a hamstring injury. Hopefully he’s good for week one, but Zaccheaus is a fine backup if he’s not. I’m concerned about the depth though, especially the lack of size the room has besides Brown. Covey is an undersized slot guy who was only on the team last year as their punt returner. He did well enough there, but he’s also been nursing a hamstring injury for a while. I wonder if they’ll waive him and try to bring him back after the initial 53-man roster. We’ll see.

Tight End (3): Dallas Goedert, Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra

Goedert is a top five TE in the league. Feels good man. Hurts and the team like Stoll as the TE2. There’s been chatter about Tyree Jackson looking better than Calcaterra as the TE3, but I think they keep Calcaterra around for another year. Maybe they bring Jackson back onto the roster if they put someone on IR after the initial 53.

Offensive Line (9): Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Jason Kelce, Cam Jurgens, Lane Johnson, Tyler Steen, Fred Johnson, Jack Driscoll, Sua Opeta

Arguably the best offensive line in the league. Jurgens has won the starting RG job. I think Steen is his direct backup there, even though he got some playing time at LT this summer. If Kelce gets hurt, Jurgens will slide over to C and Steen will play RG. I think Fred is the backup LT. He’s had a solid offseason and was quietly brought back on a two-year deal after being released last week. Driscoll is the backup RT and Opeta is the backup LG.

Defensive Tackle (6): Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, Milton Williams, Marlon Tuipulotu, Moro Ojomo

The upside this room has is nuts. At this point in his career, Cox is a good starter, but his best days are clearly behind him. Davis has been getting more reps in four-man fronts this summer, indicating that he’ll have a larger role than as just a NT. Hopefully he can take a step forward after not making much impact as a rookie. Carter has been making noise in recent weeks. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him start the season as a rotational guy, then eventually start taking significant snaps away from Cox or Davis. My guess would be Davis. Williams is a very good rotational pass rusher entering year three. Tuipulotu is locked in as Davis’ backup. Ojomo was looking solid in camp before suffering a concussion that has kept him out of practice for a while. Kentavius Street, who I left off here, has been a solid rotational player in the league and has supposedly be solid this summer. I think he could be released and brought back if the team puts Ojomo on IR after the initial 53. He’d offer another veteran presence next to Cox, as the most experienced players at DT other than Cox and Street are Williams and Tuipulotu.

Edge Rusher (6): Haason Reddick, Josh Sweat, Brandon Graham, Nolan Smith, Derek Barnett, Kyron Johnson

The strongest positional depth that the Eagles have on the roster. Reddick and Sweat are a great duo as the starters, while Graham is a very good rotational player. I’m excited to see what Smith brings to the table, especially if/when he’s on the field at the same time as Reddick. I have Barnett making the team after restructuring his contract a little while ago. Despite being listed as “edge rushers,” Barnett is this team’s third “defensive end” behind Sweat and Graham. The others are SAM linebackers and I have Kyron Johnson winning the third “SAM linebacker” job over Patrick Johnson. Patrick has actually played meaningful defensive snaps in the league, but Kyron has been the better special teams player and I think the team should consider that after losing notable special teams players Shaun Bradley and Zech McPhearson to season-ending injuries already.

Linebacker (3): Nakobe Dean, Zach Cunningham, Christian Elliss

This is the positional group I’m most concerned about, which is unsurprising because Howie doesn’t care about this position. I’m cautiously optimistic about Dean, but he did not play any meaningful defensive snaps last year despite Kyzir White being mediocre. While I could easily chalk that up to poor roster management from Jonathan Gannon, it’s worth mentioning that all of the Eagles reporters and beat writers I follow and listen to have said that Dean hasn’t stood out much this summer. Cunningham has caught on as of late and I think his size and arm length will help compliment Dean nicely, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Cunningham is another in a long line of veteran LBs this team moves on from in the middle of the season in favor of Elliss, who has had a good summer. Nicholas Morrow was going to be the guy that Cunningham might be, but he’s stunk this summer. I’d be surprised if he makes the team.

Cornerback (6): Darius Slay, James Bradberry, Avonte Maddox, Josh Jobe, Kelee Ringo, Eli Ricks

Slay and Bradberry are the clear outside corners, while Maddox is the clear slot corner. However, Maddox hasn’t been having a good summer as he has still been recovering from offseason toe surgery. Bradberry has gotten some run in the slot, which has me thinking that he will serve as the backup slot corner. Jobe is the top backup outside corner after having a good summer. Ringo, on the other hand, by all accounts, has been rough this summer. He’s going to make the team though after what the team invested in him. Ricks hasn’t stood out in practices, but he’s looked good in the Ravens and Colts preseason games. I don’t think he makes it back to the Eagles practice squad if the team waives. They should keep him around to develop.

A name worth mentioning that I left off of Mario Goodrich, who has had a solid/good summer as a slot corner, but I don’t think he makes it now that he’s dealing with a groin injury. If he makes it back to the practice squad though, I can see him getting called up to the active roster on game days if Maddox still isn’t right. They might view Bradberry as only a slot corner in a pinch or against TE/big WRs lining up in the slot as opposed to someone they could play there for weeks at a time. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles carried seven corners on the initial 53, even though I don’t have it that way.

Safety (5): Reed Blankenship, Justin Evans, Terrell Edmunds, Sydney Brown, K’Von Wallace

Blankenship is a locked-in starter for them. He was solid last year when playing in relief of CJ Gardner-Johnson and he’s had a good summer. He could be legit. The other starting safety position is up for grabs still. Despite Edmunds having some name value, he’s been just okay this summer from what I’ve heard and read. In fact, he’s even gotten reps at LB, which could be a reason why the Eagles carry only three LBs on the initial 53. No one though much of Evans when he was signed because he’s missed a lot of time through his career due to injuries or opting out in 2020, but there’s been some buzz that he might be the starter next to Blankenship. Brown has flashed his speed this summer, but has been inconsistent otherwise. I think he could start getting more playing time later in the season. I’m not sold on Wallace making the roster, especially after playing a lot in the last preseason game, but he has been a core special teams player and, again, after losing depth there, I think they convince themselves to keep him for the final year on his rookie contract.

Specialists (3): Jake Elliott, Arryn Siposs, Rick Lovato

Elliott is good. Siposs is not. Lovato is goated.
