I've said it before but my biggest gripe with Nine is Travis getting all drum machine/weird beats on us. Some songs he was just doing too much lol

Very debatable. More popular, sure. But better band? Green Say popularized punk. But Blink played a pivotal role in inventing a whole sub genre. Plus GD is mostly generic punk.

 

Why would you think who was more popular matters? Green Day are far better song writers and musicians. Like, I love blink, of course. But it truly doesn’t matter that they rode the wave Green Day started. blink can be an important band and still be the inferior band.

If I like this as much as Nine I'd be ecstatic since Tom's songwriting has rarely done anything for me the last decade. Cautiously optimistic being back with Mark will bring out good Tom

 

Can confirm Green Day kicked Blink's asses on stage during the Pop Disaster Tour. I was there just to see Blink, but halfway through their set I was basically ready to go, after getting my face melted off by Green Day's insane live show. It made Blink look like they were just an afterparty, rather than the headliner, haha. I still like Blink's music way more than Green Day's though.

Surprised to see so much discussion about Green Day here.. Both are awesome bands in their own ways. To me, Dookie/Nimrod/American Idiot are absolute essential pop-punk albums.

That's what that person showed on the leak site, yeah. We'll see as 12pm PST comes around but I think at this point it makes sense to use all next week to build up hype rather than drop a tidbit today and have it lost on the weekend.

Yeah once Wednesday into Thursday hit, I fully believed this was a next week thing.

 

I feel you man, I had some wet dreams thinking about an Untitled-Crimson hybrid and when California came it was a huge letdown. Some songs grew on me over the time but I was / still am disappointed knowing that they could have done something really special instead of “repeating themselves”.
