Highly recommend Patrick Droney for any fans of John Mayer's early work out there. I discovered him when he opened the day for Eagles in Hyde Park last year and he was a major highlight. He's got a super smooth voice coupled with some great vivid lyricism and a penchant for guitar solos.

Exactly the same for me, though I've just now listed down a few more items to listen to later, but these were the ones I've been anticipating, starting now from Ratboys and SLS. I haven't been listening to too much MxPx in the past few years, but got excited after listening to a podcast with Mike, started returning to lots of their older songs too.
