What’s frustrating like so many other issues with this party is that he’s trying to appeal to a base of votes that desperately wants student debt relief and he is doing so very little compared to the scope of the problem and claiming he’s solving the issue he promised to solve. I can acknowledge it’s better than nothing but I just wish there was an option to vote for that wasn’t constantly doing barely anything and claiming to solve the problem! It’s like being in an abusive relationship at this point I want out

 

And it weakens the argument for future reform.

Now, when people agitate for reform they will have to contend with people saying "but we already addressed that." Which is total bullshit, but it is a convenient out.

 

I was watching a CNN documentary on the Kennedy family, and when they got to Ted Kennedy they brought up how he pushed for DECADES for free, or at least affordable and decent healthcare for every American as a right, and then tried to spin the ACA as exactly what he was going for and totally a win. Like that's where we're at. We're never going to win.

 

Yeah that was my biggest issue with the ACA. It locks us into the same broken healthcare system instead of transitioning away from it. You see it now with dems running to strengthen ACA coverage like we all love paying for healthcare silver plans with a 10,000 dollar deductible. I can afford the insurance I just can’t afford to use it!

 

As frustrating as I'm sure that is, you're absolutely going about it the right way. It's so so easy to cut corners to make a house pass muster, but hide serious problems. Here in Portland it's like a rite of passage to have something seriously wrong with your house. My house's big issue is ancient electrical wiring that looks like a spider web on LSD.

 

We've been in our house a month and already need a plumber over. It's rough out here.
