I really like this. I'm a huge Conor fan though, I'd consider at least 2 of his albums to be among my all-time favourites.

for sure the most warble on any record since Im Wide Awake or Cassadaga. and its a good thing, I've missed it. This is the best Conor Oberst album since Im Wide Awake. so happy for him.

desaparecidos are good but nothing they've done comes close to I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning or Cassadaga

I'll take this over both Cassadaga and Digital Ash. Fevers and Mirrors and Wide Awake are my go to Bright Eyes albums, with Lifted right behind. I was a Bright Eyes obsessive in high school about 16 years ago and Cassadaga was the record that signaled to me that I was moving on. It's a good record however, and I still like select songs. This is the first Conor album that has turned my head since Wide Awake. Weird how long it's been.

Huge Letting Off the Happiness fan as well, obvi

"Pull My Hair" most underrated song

weird, i think cassadaga is the worst bright eyes album by a long shot.

The People's Key is definitely their worst album. I still like it though- "Shell Games", "Approximate Sunlight", "Ladder Song" and "One for You, One for Me" are great. The other songs can be a bit of a struggle to get through though ha

    1. Desaparecidos are good, specially the first album, but they are not even in the same ball park as BE

    2. Cassadaga is amazing - symphonic country folk pop goodness

    3. PK is the least good BE album, but I came around and now I enjoy it quite a bit for what it is

    4. I am not sure where I would place this new one, I for one, really enjoy Upside Down Mountain, but regardless, saying this is his best since Cassadaga ignores the fact taht his s/t album was released the following year, and that is one mighty good album

    5. Digital Ash is a very special album to me, and I feel, in general, a really good and successful experiment - I am sure that if it hadn't been released under the BE moniker and simultaneously to I'm Wide Awake, people would have appreciated it more

As much as I enjoy Digital Ash In A Digital Urn, I'm not even sure I would put it on my top five.

damn, digital ash was a truly special album for me. just one of those albums encased in nostalgia that brings me back to a beautiful time in my life.

I get that - it's not the best one and definitely not representative of the BE sound, but it holds a special place in my life as I am linked to it in a subjective and emotional way
