Hey bro haven't hopped in here in a good while. Yes you are correct, a huge motivator for rebranding was accessibility. Few other reasons as well but that one in particular was a biggie. Its all the same members. We now have a permanent bass player in one of my oldest friends Elijah Richards (he used to have a dope ass hardcore band I filled in for forevvv ago called set apart) but yuh. this was not an easy decision but there is wayyy more music coming soon I promise. Just waiting on getting masters back from Paul Leavitt

 

Makes total sense. Can't wait to hear what else you've got in the works.

By the way, are the lyrics for the album available anywhere? I found a few of them on Genius but I think it's only the singles.

 

This is really cool. Builds a little like a Manchester Orchestra song. I'll definitely check out new stuff as it comes out.

Good to hear, thanks for the info! Fingers crossed! Curious if you guys might be re-releasing "from dark..." under the new name too then, but at this point I'm obviously here for the new songs. It all really should be 10 times bigger, so I hope the rebrand will kick this off much more!

ps. just checked Set Apart out, sounds really solid, that would have definitely been right up my alley 10 years ago

 

we prolly won't re-release that album. a handful of those songs got revisited tho. I'm really stoked on it. btw I totally forgot if you peep the bands YouTube there's a live multi cam with a board mix of an unreleased song called running

 

Thanks for the link; I've just watched both of the videos there and I'll have to admit it all sounds really epic! Solid tunes and solid work on everybody's part!

I'm only not a fan of vocal backing tracks, especially with such an impressive singer - though I totally get it, it's a normal thing to go with, although just in a bit of a different world than mine, I guess ;D can't wait to get more songs and hear some of the older ones revisited then!

 

Hey guys just thought I'd hop in here n let ya'll know I amicably parted ways with the Futureself guys. I've been cooking on a new project with a homie named Mike Robbins. The band is called Best Case. If you like pinegrove, into it over it, days away, latter era starting line, clarity era jimmy, then you will def vibe. I met this guy Mike Robbins less than a week ago and we're already working on 11 songs with zak & ken (I'm sure most of ya'll know who they are but for those that don't they've produced a bunch of mayday, cartel etc). @bestcaseband on IG if anyone wants to shoot the band a follow. I'm really really pumped on these songs and its been so good to step back into playing more punk type shit.

 

Too bad of course, won't be the same, but best of luck to all of you on your respective paths (that new project sounds like something even closer to home for me by the way hahh, I hope to stumble upon some new music of yours soon!)

 

hell yea bro I am so fired up about this new undertaking and with zak n ken producing its truly a winning team firing on all cylinders. we head back into the studio on mon and should wrap up guitars n vocals n everything by end of the week. This one will be so worth the wait my dood.

uhh, so is this taken off of everything? I did listen to it like a few weeks ago I'm sure, that's odd, maybe they're re-branding it for the new name or something? Would really see no reason to have it down. Can't find their youtube videos either

good to know, though I don't want another subscription - curious to see if it returns in any form. It's a good album, wouldn't want to see it erased from the history, I know it didn't get the attention it deserved too
