I feel you. I’m going because I’ve never seen SOTY headline and don’t know how many more chances I’ll have, but the support here leaves a lot to be desired.

I’ll always be upset when a band I like isn’t playing my date versus a band I dislike immensely like we the kings.

I might cave when it gets closer and tickets are for cheap on StubHub or whatever. I absolutely love that band but they typically don't tour with bands I care to see live, the fans make me roll my eyes, and the set list when they're supporting is generally the same... So I've only seen them live a few times.

FWIW, though, you raise a good point about not knowing how many more chances we'll have so you may have swayed me here! Haha. (But, honestly, if it were FYS, I would be 100% going already.)

I’d argue FYS has a lot more overlap with SOTY fans than WTK does. WTK was riding the neon wave mostly and didn’t tour with bands like SOTY back in the day. It makes sense why people would not care to see them open for SOTY.

TBH, as much as I'm not a fan of it, I think it's a smart move. There's enough overlap that a certain percentage of the fanbase will be into it... And We The Kings will also pull in folks who might not care about SOTY at all.

I don't mind WTK but I would take FYS over them every time when given the option. Unfortunately I do not have that option.

True. It’s still a nostalgia band that has a different fanbase and I can see hardcore WTK fans paying to see them open. Definitely not a bad idea.

Any situation in my life that involves We The Kings is a situation I try to avoid but each to their own.

Harms Way tour sounds fun, but I'm seeing Boys Like Girls down the road that night. I might try and watch that show through the end of Champs and then Lyft over to catch Harms Way.

Ok we can chill with the tour announcements for this fall. I usually only hit like one show per month if I'm lucky but with that Harms Way tour I'll have like 10 or 11 shows for the rest of the year between september and the beginning of december

Yeah my fall is much busier than normal. I usually only hit 3-4 shows all year now days, but there’s too many good tours to pass up.

Weird, this fall is super light for me haha. I only have tickets to 3 shows right now, and I normally have like 20 lined up

Fall is the one time of year because of work that I can’t really go to many shows, almost no free time, so bring on the winter tour announcements haha

  16. New baby means I have to be way more picky about shows, so I’ve got Riot Fest and the Wonder Years and not much else right now.

I've got Bowling For Soup, The Wonder Years, Hot Mulligan, and KP/RF currently on the docket. Will probably end up at Menzingers as well. Wanted to try and get to Bad Omens but it's already sold out and the day after BFS so that's probably not going to happen.

A bunch of my shows are for bands I've been dying to see for a really long time like Slowdive. Never know if/when they're gonna actually do another show near me, so I just couldn't let myself miss out, fomo is one hell of a drug

September I have Beck/Phoenix, Portrayal of Guilt, Hatebreed, Dave Chappelle, Of Montreal, The Postal Service, three days of Furnace Fest, and Fiddlehead lmao

Multiple shows within a week is super for for me to do with work and I have that twice this fall. Got AAR/NFG and TWY at the end of September and The Menzingers and Hot Mulligan in December. Normally I’d skip one of those shows, but it’s too hard to decide and I’m gonna do them all. Thank god most of the venues have tons of seating for my old ass haha

I don't have anything until Queen+Adam Lambert in October, but my Septembers are usually all Halloween Horror Nights anyway.

Oh yeah, oh yeah, everything is terrible.

I only have Death Grips and Parkway Drive in September but things pick up again solidly from October-December

This year is the most concerts I’ve ever gone to, mostly because of all the 20th anniversary tours. Still have:
August - Iowa is for lovers
Sept - braid/Thursday; death cab/postal service; dethklok (maybe)
Oct - funeral for a friend/dashboard confessional (x2); emo orchestra; armor for sleep/early November/spill canvas
Nov - moneen/sparta; story of the year

Some super cool tours this year but it just feels like everyone is on the road. If i went to everything I wanted to, my show attendance would have tripled.

Also the cost of arena shows (dynamically priced or not) has caused me to go to fewer smaller shows (cough cough, blink-182)
