i dont think you pay Dalvin Cook $8m if you think Hall is going to be completely good to go by week 1. It's gonna be Cook for the first few weeks at least and then at best probably a committee if Hall comes back how we saw him last season.

You pay $8M for Cook because it's one year of rental insurance. He'll get his touches and he'll hopefully keep Hall fresh.

He's an upgrade over what the Jets have behind RB1. Their offense absolutely tanked once Hall got hurt last season.

A RBBC of Hall/Cook/Abanikanda is so much better than Hall/Carter/Knight.

 

Breece is the guy. It might be more of an even split in September and maybe October, but Breece will become more and more of the focal point in the backfield as the season progresses. Wouldn’t be surprised if Cook requests a trade in October and a team that lost their starting RB sends a day three pick for him.

It's something like $7M in guaranteed base, $1.6M in incentives.

I look at it like this: what else are they going to spend the money on?

Hall is the lead back. Cook will get his touches. They'll be on the field together at times.
