Wouldn’t be opposed to a rule change where if the reffing is so egregious and admitted after the fact, points could be awarded (but not taken away from either team). In this case, the correct reffing decision would’ve most likely resulted in a draw so they’d be given a point, etc.

 

Spurs are still a few windows away from having a complete team (although I think the squad looks better than I anticipated) but it’s awesome that we have a midfield of Maddison Bissouma Bentancur for a total of ~80m while Chelsea spent 250m for their new midfield. I’d honestly rather have our’s. It’s more complete.

 

Maybe they’ll take away O’Neils yellow card.

For what it’s worth, ETH also said in his postgame conference that he thought it was a penalty. I wonder if anything comes from this.

 

The VAR official who ignored Onana's errrr, challenge (?) last night was also stood down from VAR duties in April for not giving Brighton a penalty against Spurs. Either the guy has a truly bizarre interpretation of the rules or he doesn't have the backbone needed to make a call when the referee has missed something.

100% the fact it was the 95th minute and the decision would have impacted the result of the game plays into it not being given. If the score was 3-0 or it was the 60th minute, they would have given it. No backbone whatsoever.

 

Not sure why they bother doing this as a) it will mean sweet FA to Wolves b) the same folk will be allowed back next weekend. Is it really a repercussion at this point?
