Living in florida I'm like yeah I can't wait for 2025 epic universe is gonna be amazing.
But then I'm like. God that parks gonna be awful for the first few years attendece wise. Probably gonna have to wait awhile before the crowd levels become manageable

Will the epic crowds mean lesser crowds at the other parks or is that just not a thing

 

Any displacement from the other parks is going to be canceled out by more people coming to the area for the new park.

It will be fun to visit a year after it opens.

 

If this matches concept art, which so far it’s damn close, this will be so incredible. I wasn’t excited for How to Train Your Dragon but watching these updates it seems like that’s going to be a great land as well. They are packing a lot of attractions in there. There was a rumor at one point that they would sell tickets to just one portal. I’d be interested to see if that plays out down the line.

 

It has been so long since a major park like this opened that there will almost certainly be some sort of restriction on how people enter. We are in the era of virtual queues for single rides so there is going to be something like that for a whole entire park.

The one wild card is the looming recession, especially the risk once student loans resume. You are taking away a lot of the purchasing power of the kinds of people who flock to these things.

 

Just spent 3 days at Busch Gardens VA. Might have one of my favorite rides ever, Pantheon. Also was shocked how short all the lines were, did the whole park in less than 6 hours each day (10-4pm).

 

At this point i'm looking at Epic Universe as a place to take my future hypothetical children. Wonder if Disney steps it up a bit and greenlights a 5th park after this.

 

I wonder if they ever even will do a fifth park in Orlando or if they would rather build more resorts throughout the world. With DeSantis making life difficult, Florida summers becoming more unbearable, and more hurricane-related closures the last few years than ever before, it might not be worth it.

Plus, more locations allows people to visit multiple locations. I wonder how many people are unable to afford the all-parks experience and end up cutting down on their trip. The tiered pricing and now the cheaper Epcot-Animal Kingdom ticket shows not all parks are the same destination for visitors.

 

This would honestly be the best thing for them to do. I think it only makes sense for them to expand and open more resorts globally. Maybe even more in the country. With the fanbase they have, people will travel for them

Not sure if this is common knowledge…went to go see the Offspring and AAR/NFG tours on back to back nights at Darien Lake.

Didn’t realize the venue is attached to a Six Flags park and all concert tickets include free admission. The park also has a massive campground and hotel attached, if you’re in the northeast I’d def recommend it as if you’re looking to tie in a concert.

Bought lawn tickets for both shows on StubHub ($20-ish), went to the theme park both days and got a tent camping spot on site for $80 for the weekend. Really fun weekend…park is pretty mid but the water park was bad ass and they had 2-3 good coasters.

 

Finally seeing ROGERS today at DCA. sprung for the premium package so we didn’t have to struggle to get in this close to the closing date. Hoping it’s cool.

 

Still think it’s wild that they brought that to the parks

 

I am going to Epcot tomorrow. I really hate that they only show the good France movie after 7 o'clock. It is at the far end of the park so you have to carefully plan your walk and it means you have to always go counterclockwise.

 

Perhaps you can wait in line for their new amazing attraction. A upscale splash pad with light ties to Moana

It’s not something Disney offers as an actual snack but they can’t stop you from creating this sinful experience

 

It would honestly be pretty good if it were vanilla cream. But… chocolate? My throat closes just thinking about it
