As a person who is proud of the dominant role that POC art and culture plays in particular in New Orleans and proud to have family heritage there, ain’t no way in hell am I putting any city that doesn’t have strong diversity above it. So that’s where my bias comes in.

I liked but didn't love Charlotte. Austin is probably the most overrated place in the country and I had a worse time driving around there than LA.

that’s fine and a valuable thing to play into your reasoning but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a clear bias in favor of one positive and ignoring the many negatives about it lol

I've got quite a few major cities left to cross off. Anything northeast of Delaware, any big city from a state that touches a great lake, SLC, San Antonio, Miami, San Diego, San Jose, Boise if you count that, Charleston

im not ignoring the negatives about it at all. Every city has negatives. Sure, the roads were not designed in a good way to handle all the tourist traffic that doesn’t innately understand how to navigate the city.

The positives still make it amazing

And if one of your negatives is “omg the crime” I am rolling my eyes very hard

richmond is cool but it’s not NOLA. It’s very much a city of its size. NOLA is one of the most culturally influential cities in the country despite not being anywhere near the size of other cities on that list.

y’all are doing a great job of inventing a guy tonight since, again, literally zero people have said that lol

the design of the city, as i said, is the main thing. also, while i love NOLA food and am trying to get better about jazz, saying it has great food and music when it does one cuisine really well and everything else is just kinda there and has a music scene that is as insular and focused on one thing only as nashville is for country doesn’t really open that up to a wide variety of people lol. and, lastly, while charlotte and most of the southeast hardly has “good” weather, NOLA is one of the most disgusting cities to be a person walking outside in for like 9 months a year lol
