I'm listening to American Idiot right now after not spinning it for a while. I'm not much of an audiophile tbh, but after I gave my Crosley suitcase to my friend and upgraded to an Insignia, got a miniamp with bass and treble knobs, and put in an acrylic platter, I gotta say, I think my records are sounding pretty darn good right now. and I'm just using dusty decades-old speakers/subwoofer I pulled up from the garage.

 

I have a SeeYing record player and definitely happening on every record. Even brand new ones.

 

Never heard of that brand, but It sounds like it could be cartridge/needle related if you have already balanced it accordingly.

Burials definitely gets overlooked, but then they have such an amazing discography. I think it's my favorite post-Decemberunderground full length release.

those crosley suitcase players are god awful, i used to sell so many during the holidays when i worked retail and my soul was always crushed selling em, the record doesn't even spin flat on it, it spins over the edge!

Bandbox "green vinyl" sale and one of the quintessential jams from twenty years ago. So stoked to finally own Remember Right Now!

 

Any advice on packing vinyl for a move? I’ve got 220 or so. I don’t want anything to happen to them. I don’t think I’ll have room in my car for all of them. Some will have to go in the moving truck and I’m scared. Help? Haha

 

I snagged Gaslight and American Football LP2 during that green sale. Couldn’t beat those prices.

 

Rent a small U-Haul and drive it yourself with the records. Haha. I would be scared otherwise.

 

If you google boxes for moving vinyl you'll find the right size. I used bubble wrap as well just to be safe. I work for Uline so I ordered a few bundles of 16x12x12 boxes (don't quote me on the dims).

I moved packed and moved all my vinyl myself. I started to pack it a month before we moved. I stored it all in my parents basement.

It was NOT fun, but I didn't trust the movers to handle my shit with care.

Hell, if I lived nearby I'd help you move them! ;)

Found a random photo of me in the midst of packing. 16 Ikea squares was brutal, 2 years later and there's 24 now ugh.

 

I wanted to throw in Dashboard since it was so cheap. But I didn't want to buy something because it was SO cheap haha.

Funny thing is the Syd vinyl is more blue than green.
