Player's Log: Trails In The Sky

I don't have much to report. RPGs are generally slow going, I haven't even finished the prologue yet.

The most I can say is I do like the way you get quests from the guild. I loved how that worked in the Arc The Lad games. There's just something about taking a quest. I don't know what I'm on about.

I'm also sort of rethinking my decision on the voices, not because I don't want Japanese voices, but because I'm starting to feel inclined to breeze through the text. I generally read a lot faster than the game's voice lines, so I'm getting a little impatient. Oh well.

 

What the hell is a chili taco? Where I’m from everything comes in taco form and there is no such thing

 

I don't know if it actually exists, but the idea of chili inside a taco shell appeals to me.

honestly I like Fortnite but I feel like that’s the best of the battle royales in terms of shooting mechanics and overall pace

It is a very wordy game with a very slow start. The world building is incredibly done. Stick with it and you'll not regret it. Better gamers in this thread will tell you the same thing.

TOTK is good and I enjoyed it way more than BOTW

I still am not crazy about the direction Zelda has gone in with these two games. TOTK will definitely end up top 10/maybe top 5 for me, but the more time away from it I get the more I think about the flaws I have with it.

FFXVI is my favorite so far

 

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not making a complaint. I was raised on wordy JRPGs. I was just more explaining "don't expect to get regular wordy logs from me" as it might take time for me to get anywhere notable.

I’ll say this, of all the mid games I’ve played, this is the mid-est one. With the likes of Callisto Protocol and Forspoken you can tell they're not made to be mid and very much have high production values and ambition... this game is proudly mid and it's honestly a little off-putting.

 

I need a "Proud To Be Mid" T-shirt immediately.

 

it's mostly fine. I am already avoiding combat. Not sure how much longer of this I have in me.
