These shows are for me. This is because I bought a ticket to Philly I wasn't able to use, and they owed me, so they did one of these album shows in Austin. These shows are for me.

We reach for the longest shadow

They’ve always been a “pretty good” at best live band. I’m sure the crowd for them being a headliner will make it more exciting, but the few times I’ve seen them open shows, it wasn’t great.

    Got a light?

NYC show was amazing, just too hot, not their fault

The setlist was eight songs from TTWTWM and no more than two songs from any other release. Jon’s voice was also shot for the last third of the set. It was a very mid setlist and performance.

Saw the Atlanta show last night. Band is great still, Jon’s voice was pretty shot by the end, and mentioned how dumb he was to start TTWTWM with the two hardest songs to sing, haha.

Jon did say “see you soon”, in a way that makes me think more dates/music is coming.

spoiler alert for setlist: encored with Body Language, Savior Mode and Postcard. I was not expecting Postcard, and thought surely it would be a song off Separation. The vibe was slightly off closing with that, but it was fine. Jon was super into it.

Pretty cool, but I'm worried for Jon's voice to hold up for something like that.

Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

Yeah wish they had the capacity to add more album shows but I'll take what I can get. On last weeks ep of his podcast, Jon all but confirmed a new record is in the works so maybe some shows will happen in support of it.

I'm honestly more stoked for new music than anything else at this point. I feel like Too Quick to Forgive is the perfect two song representation of what they do well, and I'd love to see what a full album looks like expounding on what they did there.

I don't believe the livestream is actually going to be live, someone else (maybe here?) had mentioned they had been in the studio with Will Yip recently and my guess it was for this. I'm sure Will will have put the polish on this in order to put it out as a vinyl release.

Regardless, bought my copy and a ticket to the stream
