I’m not a true old head yet but a reggaeton artist just did a freestyle verse and she said “Nikes on my feet make my cypher complete” and the whole comment section was like what a tribute to mac miller and I’m sitting here like

NAS?? Yeah I felt old when people associated that with mac instead of nas now

 

I work with a lot of people in their early or mid 20s and we had this activity where he had to name our favorite albums and none of them knew what Illmatic was lol So I feel you

to be fair I think almost none of them listen to rap

 

I think it was this site that honestly got me to listen to illmatic because I remember back in the day we have crash courses on how to get into hip hop

18 months after @username mentioned them in here, i'm finally listening to Iceboy Violet after they released their new album. Digging it a lot, reminds me Gaika musically just with more rapping that singing.
