I can believe it. We didn’t play well this entire World Cup. Huge bummer to get knocked out the first round, but not surprising at all. With the skill level USA has this game should have never even gone to PKs.

 

Such a cruel way to go out. There was barely any day light there.

Rapinoe looked like she was playing in slow motion all game.

 

Naeher, Girma, Sullivan, and Sonnett deserve handwritten apologies from the forward line.

 

Only 4 goals in 4 games is absolutely wild from this team

 

rapinoe and smith had atrocious penalties.

 

Alex had more goals in one game in 2019 than this entire tournament for the team, lmao.

 

I never for a second thought Pinoe was hitting her penalty. Definitely didn’t expect her to walk away laughing tho

 

I feel bad for her but Smith’s was brutal. Mušović had already jumped the wrong way, just fucking tap it in.

 

I know Mewis converted her chance but it’s so nuts to sub two players in the final minute, watch them get zero touches, and then have them both take penalties

 

I bet the Macario/Swanson situation keep Vlatko around for the Olympics.

 

Slept thru my alarm so I missed most of the game but now I'm wishing I'd missed all of it. Such a bummer ending especially for Naeher who deserved better.

 

I really hope not because it shouldn’t have taken 3 games and a Rose suspension for Vlatko to realize that formation was not working

 

I’d be shocked if Vlatko sticks around. Not one positive thing to take away from his management this whole tournament

 

Julie Ertz is officially retiring from the USWNT. I’m not surprised but it’s definitely a bummer, I think she could have had a few more good years.
