Ramsey didn’t have a meniscus repair if this is the case (which is what was initially reported). That’s a standard 6 week non-weight bearing surgery unless there is a procedure I’m not aware of.

Yeah, I sorta get Gore from a longevity perspective; but, feels like AP's the only one on that list thats a lock. Marshawn probably has too short a span as a top guy, and Lesean might not be standout enough.

 

Idk how you can leave the third leading rusher in NFL history out — that’s one of those stats that’s really hard to explain away

Shady is my favorite corner case because he has a fine resume on its own (2x first team All-Pro, enough longevity to have decent counting stats), but also he’s a 2x Super Bowl champion, which propels him to the top of the maybe list, even though I’d bet very few people would remember without prompting that he was on either Super Bowl champion ‘19 Chiefs and ‘20 Bucs

Like, Im a Marshawn hater for a bunch of reasons, but, I dont even think he's an edge case. He's got a 4yr run in Seattle, his rookie year, and the rest is meh. If he gets in, there's 15 other RBs from 2000-on that have to get in as well, and that aint happening.

I always thought the December timeline that Rap keeps harping on was kind of crazy.

 

I’m maybe a little liberal on it, but mostly operate off of “5 new players inducted per year in perpetuity” rule that they have, so my rough line is the top ~50-75 guys regardless of position per decade/era

if it were truly just the game changing players being honored because that’s how I’d want it to be, then sure, I’m good with just AP of the current group

 

RB is such a tough position because there are so many nearly identical resumes.

“had a great 3-4 year run, and then was just a dude for a bit” so it really is either keep them all out or avalanche time.

WR is a hard one too but there are guys who at least rise above the rest there.
