Shelter checked the dog for a microchip but didn't find one, they said they'd keep her and give her medical care. My fiance asked about us taking her if an owner didn't claim her after however long and they said that the dog might have to go to a rescue, depending on some factor that they didn't bother to explain because they were so busy.

@JoshIsMediocre I'd reach out to the place again and ask the same thing and see what they say, if it needs to go to a rescue then I don't see why you couldn't adopt them from the rescue. I think places like that are overwhelmed most of the time so may not be that great at answering questions. If you are persistent i'd imagine it won't be too hard to snag this pupper.

Yeah planning to check in with them again, last I’d heard they weren’t even taking in any new animals due to overcrowding + canine flu going around. But maybe that’s passed.
