I have never seen anyone use their episode of DSOTR for self promotion more than Vince Russo is doing right now.

I saw some article recently at work that was just like a compilation of tweets of people complaining that Wardlow needs to leave for WWE. It was very strange

 

Wardlow had momentum cause he was in a hot story. He absolutely does not have the charisma or character to sustain that on his own. Dude needs a solid run in ROH to develop more away from television

 

I know the original was about JB, but it also applies for Wardlow. Just an abysmal promo; and if he cant carry a story, then its hard to book him as the dominant face he was (see also: Goldberg). And you cant put him in the main title picture like you'd need to to keep his character going.

JB's problem is the same as Ricochet or Dante Martin or any number of other dudes...you can be a standout ring worker, but in a company filled with tons of good workers, its your ability to story tell that sets you apart. AEW's usually been smart to have managers or factions to carry some of that weight, but, there's like 10-15 dudes on the roster that fit the "flippy boi who cant talk" mold. And when they have Ricky and Cole and dudes like that who can do it all...

I was about to say that youth is on wardlows side but the dude is 35. Had no idea.

at least jack perry is 26 and has time to really flesh out his promo skills but he is a tag team dude all day long. The pillars should not include him at all, weird to be so tied to him as a company to keep using him as they have.

not trying to be contrarian but i think Wardlow is much better than that! relative to how much time he's been around and how much of that has been on camera, i think he's got most things other than a character, and that part is AEW's job. only objectively terrible thing about Wardlow has been his booking imo. he is well-spoken and confident and you can do a lot w that promowise
