I don't care for most of the new rappers. 21 savage, lil yacht,etc.

 

I wish I could just have Miley and Kanye as artists and not have to remember the dumb things they've said, same with Kristen Stewart but that's less relevant to this thread

 

The worst is when someone asks why I dislike an artist and I tell them and they're like "that's dumb" And I know it is lol. Tho to be fair I usually am already indifferent to their music to begin with so it's not like I go from 0 to 100 lol. I go from like 0 to 15.

 

I've always believed that art was more than its creator, but can't hold it against people who don't. The one stipulation is if the offense is egregious enough and I haven't already discovered I like the artist's work, then I might avoid experiencing it.

 

I fucking hate yachty but savage is tight as hell

 

I have no problem saying I have a harder time enjoying The Dangerous Summer because of Cody Payne. I love War Paint, buts his shitty behavior is always in the back of my mind when I listen to that record.

 

I don't see the appeal of Modern Baseball.

 

This isn't really a typical complaint for this thread, but I always hate when artists stylize their names in a way where proper capitalization isn't employed. LIGHTS, ICE NINE KILLS, I am waiting for you last summer, etc. Cut the shit.

The titles are nowhere near as bad as the songs themselves . . .

Guys I'm trying to be the opening act for the Spill Canvas. They're playing a venue in Jacksonville that my band has already killed it recently (in July) and I'm releasing an album two weeks before the show. Wish me luck seriously.

Big breaks are opening up right around then. Also have my biggest Jax show yet on November 12 and might be headlining a festival on New years Eve or Day.

I think Isbell is better than the other two. But I wouldn't call it a modern trend. I think they go over well because they remind everyone what country should be.

 

modern wasn't the right term. i know they're more indebted to older country than artists like, say, luke bryan. i just meant they have come to prominence within the last two years or so and around the same period as one another

 

I agree, isbell is the only one of those I like even a little

 

I would mostly agree; as much as I like Isbell as a songwriter I much prefer his work with DBT to his solo stuff

I'm 100% the opposite. Love Sturgill and Stapleton, but have never really gotten into Isbell

 

I dont dig any of them but Lydia Loveless and Marren Morris have two of my favorite albums this year
