On our way to the movies about an hour and a half ago, got a call from our neighbor that the power was out on our block. Looked at the power company website and it’s affecting like 7,000 people. Immediately turned around to get home and make sure the pets were gonna be ok since it’s still mid 90s, hot as shit outside

pulled into my driveway and realized oh the garage door opener won’t work. Then realized neither me or my fiancé have our house keys. Mine are at work. Wanted to just go get them but realized my access badge was inside the house. Couldn’t call any coworkers because my work cell phone was also inside the house. Messaged coworkers on facebook and sent emails from my personal email to no response. I was basically just short of a panic attack for like, 45 minutes, so we called a locksmith but before they got there the power came back on.

Almost 80 degrees inside the house. Trying to get my dog to cool down and drink water now. Feel like the biggest idiot in the world
