Never seen them. Maybe they’ll play the tour title track at these shows. Or maybe not lol

This band has WAYYYY TOOO MANY rippers to open with Big Cheese.

    Ugh.

I love it when bands mix up their setlist from show to show, even just a few songs. Bayside could do that.

    Maybe so, maybe not.

I've seen Bayside around ~30 times over the years and this is why I have kind of stopped going since Interrobang. Just not remotely enough variety given the size of the catalog.

I would love to see It's Not a Bad Little War live though. Hell, I've never even seen the band!

There's a tiny bit of variety this setlist. Excited to see How to Ruin Everything and Go To Hell for the first time. Mixing in The Wrong Way, Sinking & Swimming and It's Not a Bad Little War - even though they aren't favorites I guess is good for variety.

I'm not sure why they aren't sprinkling in more from other albums. Very strange to see no representation whatsoever of Sirens, Shudder & Vacancy. I'd even settle for more Interrobang.

I thought this last tour's setlist was their best in years, honestly

The only song I really wished they had played on this tour was Boy. Otherwise was very happy with the setlist. I lost my shit when they played Go To Hell I LOVE the song.

Kind of a shame Interrobang isn't a set staple.

They should be playing a minimum of 6 songs from the album each show imo

Have they never played White Flag?

    And absolute tragedy.

A few times I believe, I’ve seen it on setlist before.

If they have, it's not on Setlist.fm. Although many of their sets don't make it onto Setlist.fm, so I suppose it's possible.

Seeing them in 4 hours. There’s only one set posted from this leg of the tour…hopefully they switch out a few but totally not expecting it.

    Man…

I really hate to say this, as Bayside is one of my favorite bands of all-time and I’ve seen them 15+ times and have loved them every time, but tonight was easily my least favorite Bayside show.

For starters, holy hell the mixing was AWFUL. I can’t get over how bad it was. It was so beyond loud. Perhaps louder than any concert I have ever been to. I noticed the music even in between bands was abnormally loud. Bayside normally sounds super tight, and sound is typically top notch. Tonight was not the case. Honestly so loud that it took me 20-30 seconds on some songs to figure out which song it was - it was just…loud, loud noise. My ears are still ringing badly and the show ended 2 hours ago. Everyone I went with also made comments about this.

It’s a venue I have been to 75 times so I am not sure who was at fault with the mixing, but it was abnormal for both the venue and the band. I think they maybe made an adjustment during the encore because it sounded a little better the last 3 songs.

The set…again, Big Cheese is such a bummer of an opener. I have seen them open with it before and it’s just head scratching. It’s just a dud imo…they have SOOOOOO many rippers they can, and usually do, open with. Pulling out Vinnie on the second song of the set to do TWW is just a weird choice. Yeah, I know he’s on the vocals on the album, but that breakdown is typically one of the best parts of their show with the fans screaming it and my guess is 75% of the crowd was wondering who that even was and it, to me, took away from the fan sing along. Also weird to have that second in the set if you’re bringing out an opener. That’s a strong nitpick, I get it but most bands, if they’re bringing out openers usually do so toward the end of the set.

The dude from Koyo finishing D&D also didn’t work for me. They swapped in You’re No Match tonight, which is arguably one of their worst songs off their worst album. No Vacancy, Shudder or Sirens whatsoever and they’re playing TWO cult songs? Bizarre.

The crowd was terrible. I don’t typically complain about crowds but most of the crowd was obnoxious. Dude next to me was so drunk, dropping drinks and his phone repeatedly. Several people around me just screaming obnoxiously the entire set (especially during the acoustic songs) The pit seemed ruthless, but I was far enough away from that, however the people walking to and from the pit were just repeatedly pummeling through the crowd rudely to get in/out of pit (and it wasn’t even that crowded - people could have easily walked around others or Scooch through).

Never thought I’d ever have this many complaints about a Bayside show.

A bit of good news, that I forgot to mention, Anthony did say "after this we're going back home to finish our record and we'll be back next year."

Not sure if he meant a full, actual record, or if they're just finishing up that third EP. My guess is the third EP, but either way, sounds like new music by end of the year/early next year.

That’s a bummer, but it does make me feel better about missing the show lol

My theory (and this stems from my awful experiences seeing Anberlin 2009-2012- almost unlistenable live mixes each time) is that their sound person is going deaf and no longer is capable of mixing well. I wonder if that happened with the show last night but my theory only holds up if the experience is happening at multiple venues for people. Otherwise, it could’ve been an anomaly. Either way, that’s a bummer.

It was definitely loud but also definitely just a run of the mill Bayside show

Complaining about Vinnie coming out is maybe one of the weirdest things I could have imagined someone to complain about lol

i dont think fans of bayside, a band that has notoriously toured with IATA as much as they possibly can, are wondering who vinnie caruana is.

complaints about the setlist are valid though, its why i don't go see them much anymore. they're my wife's favorite band and she was at all 3 shows they played in the NYC/LI area so far this year and has given glowing reviews about each, but i'd rather spend my money elsewhere these days.

Admittedly, I was in a bad mood when I got home and fired that rant off, haha. My ears are still ringing. Like, I'm old, but I still go to concerts quite frequently and definitely do not recall a show as loud as that, or the mixing being that bad, or my ears still ringing like crazy 12 hours later. Plus, I was getting pummeled rudely all night by pit-goers.

I definitely wouldn't call last night a run of the mill Bayside show. I felt it had a weird energy for much of the night.

This was my 16th time seeing Bayside in Cleveland. First ever time I've seen them with IATA. I know who Vinnie is, but I bet a lot of the crowd didn't. People near me literally thought they let a fan on stage - which is probably just as embarrassing as not knowing it was Vinnie.

Regardless, I thought it stole some energy away from the show so early in the set, especially after opening with the snoozefest that Big Cheese is.

Bayside’s frustrating to me because they are one of my favorite bands, but after seeing them 15 times I don’t feel the desire to go to every tour. They ignore 75 percent of their catalog and play the same songs over and over. Also in my experience Bayside fans can suck because when the band has branched out and played deep cuts the fans don’t care so the band plays it safe and plays all of the favorites at every show. It’s too bad the favorites are literally 2/3 of the set. I would if they did a tour where they didn’t play Devotion, Bad Luck, Montauk, TWW, Duality, Already Gone, Masterpeice, Sick, Sick, Sick, etc lol
