Never mind what I said earlier we’re gonna win it all!!

but seriously it seems like Arsenal came out fast at the start and the heat has sapped their energy. Odd stuff for a friendly, really.

Tbf I think Tomiyasu playing at left back and Havertz at left eight is not helping. We look weak on that side. Plus, Rice is having to pull too far left to cover for Havertz, leaving a further gap.

I also think we look asleep tbh.

Couple times now Arsenal players have tried to stay on the ground exaggerating non injuries and United players have successfully called their bluff and offered their hand to help pull a player back on his feet to just keep the game going. Would love to see this become the standard accepted practice and every team does it to each other (including United cause this is a thing every team does and I don’t want this to be a United v Arsenal thing).

Arsenal probably should have had a couple in the first 20 minutes, but we took our chances in the second half there. Fun little game but very much a fitness game.

also insanely hard to glean much from a pre season game, but our work in possession and holding onto the ball seems a step up from last year.

Was nice of Ramsdale to do a De Gea tribute for the first goal though.

Full team subs for us. Second half is going to be weird.

Why did Tierney not start? Is Arteta moving Tomiyasu to the left full time?

not going to lie the Timber transfer is incredibly confusing considering ye have Tomiyasu and White and Tierney not really in Arteta’s plans.

Tomiyasu is LB, CB, and RB cover, but really he’s a depth choice who can fill in in different positions. Timber is similar, in that he plays RB, CB, and DM.

My suspicion is that we use White & Zinchenko, Timber & Tierney as the pairings, with Tomi as backup to alp of them basically. One conventional full back and one inverted, but on alternating sides to cover strong wingers or expose weak sides of a defence.

Second half a bit of a damp squib after our subs.

God I’ve missed watching us play haha. Can’t wait for the season to start.

This going to penalties is so silly but we do need the practice.

We’ve got the mental advantage :right::-|

Seriously though fun game for the most part, we slowed down a lot with the subs but were still threatening on the break. Won’t get to watch any of our other games on tour until they get back so that was nice to watch.

Here I am over analysing a pre season game but I really don’t see where Havertz fits into that Arsenal team. I also think Partey is a bit of trouble for Arteta/Havertz, he really has to be a starter. But then where does Havertz fit? Rice is going to play every game he’s available (full rotation against smaller teams notwithstanding) Odegaard the same.

Chelsea Brighton seemed like an entertaining one, 4-3. Early days but Poch seems like a manager you can trust to get the best out of every player in the squad - he will need to because the squad is a bit light on experience in key areas, but you look at players like Chukwuemeka, Colwil, Madueke and Mudryk and you think Poch will be much better at nurturing their talent/potential than perhaps Tuchel would have been.

De Bruyne appears to be back from injury earlier than expected. That's my Foden punt in Fantasy in the mud!

Levy breaking all character and splashing out for Mbappe would be a top ten heel turn moment. But Mbappe ain’t going to a non-UCL club.

  24. Spurs pre-season game being canceled sent fans into a meltdown. Some of these people really need help.

Since saying this, his team has lost friendlies to La Liga’s avoided relegation on the last day Celta Vigo 5-0 and Portuguese champions Benfica 4-1. Life comes at you fast, etc…
