Are these venues, or some of them, larger than they'd have played when they were at their commercial peak?

Even with the nostalgia factor, the rise in attendance on this tour compared to the last few pre hiatus is incredible.

The crowd from last night looked like it was more than 10,000 people haha.

Yellowcard is back with new music on the way.

Tom DeLonge is coming out with his signature Fender Stratocaster again and blink has new music coming.

MxPx is dropping a new song and pre-orders for the next album soon.

Damn! This summer is shaping up to be a great one!

Who do I need to send a sternly written letter to get Gifts and Curses on Apple Music?

I also think the next generation or at least younger people have found them in recent years with all the nostalgic stuff going on. Lots of 20 year anniversaries in the scene the last few years, I think that has brought in new younger people. But I have no actual clue. Just random thoughts. It would be interesting to see the age statistics for something like Spotify/Apple streaming.

Edit: I lean towards this being a big part due to all the people screaming when WRK asks who is at their first Yellowcard show. I’m sure some are elder Emo who just never made it to a show. But I suspect it’s people who were too young for shows 10 years ago.

I’m real excited for the show. The only time I got to see them was on Warped Tour right when Ocean Ave was blowing up. They followed NOFX and Fat Mike riled up the crowd with “Yellowcard sucks” chants. Some people were throwing shit at the stage it really soured the mood. But they were so good that I think they won a lot of people over in the end. Not sure if Fat Mike was just being a dick or hazing them as newbies. Was always bummed I never got a chance to catch any proper shows after that but lots of life happens moments along the way.

The craziest part of last night was how over half of the crowd cheered when asked if it was their first Yellowcard show.

I had friends who bought tickets yesterday, the ticket prices never dropped low. They stayed at the normal price ($47 before fees) the whole time on ticketmaster and resale sites. This is pretty impressive since Imagine Dragons was playing a stadium 5 blocks away and was selling tickets for like $20. Imagine Dragons supposedly only pulled in 20k people and Yellowcard sold a ton of a 8.4k cap venue.

Wasn’t it fun trying to get out of downtown Minneapolis last night or what?! Lol

My guess is that Emo Night stuff didn’t start really popping off until after Yellowcard broke up and the new fan base realized how amazing they are and when they announced their reunion, everyone was all in. Plus absence creates desire and that happens all the time when a band splits up and gets back together.

It was an amazing site to see last night. All the lights and sounds (heh heh) were incredible last night.

My only nitpick last night was that I couldn’t hear Josh’s bass AT ALL in the mix. Anyone else notice that?

I wish it wasn't an absolute hassle to figure out set times/door times for Livenation shows. My ticket says 7 so I guess I'll go with that?

  11. Not familiar with their shows but is Ryan being guitar less for Childhood Eyes new for him? Kinda reminds me how weird it always feels to see Tom Delonge perform without one too.

Would anyone be interested in buying my tickets off me for Chicago tonight? My car shit out on me and I can't make it anymore. I have a pit ticket I'd let go for like $60 and a section 202 if do for like $30.

Childhood Eyes is such a good song/single. Definitely up there with Always Summer for me.

    It all comes around, man.

This band has consistently produced quality music for decades. They made it big, saw the highs and the lows, played the shows in the small venues, saw the music industry change, you name it. But they’ve been two things throughout the entire time that i’ve followed them - consistent and genuine. They’ve always put out quality, meaningful music and they’ve always been genuinely nice, grateful and appreciative people. As a fan for 20+ years, it is so fulfilling to see the band find renewed success now. They deserve it.

I don’t want to speak for him but I believe he mentioned the other day somewhere that it’s pretty rare for him to have a song without a guitar and that he was stoked on it

Do the change the lyrics of With You Around to “All I can think about is you and me driving the [redacted] record on?”

    kidding, kidding, song rules.

Chicago started 30 minutes late, they are going to cut the hell out of the openers sets. It's a shame because me and my friends love SOTY more than YC

It says everywhere that the show was supposed to start at 6:30 (it even says ao on the sheet that security has). From what I see TWL did 5 songs instead of their usual 7 and SOTY did 7 instead of 9.

It's all good, SOTY were just amazing, 2 more songs and I would have needed to be carried out on a stretcher.

I'll see in the pit at /checks time/ 9 minutrs

Curious where most people fall with self titled. That one keeps growing on me somehow and I’ve come to really love it!
