Holy shit did they ever sound great tonight. Crowd in Detroit was A+, and Ryan said it was very likely the biggest show of the tour. So happy these guys are back

I can see why they're cutting or changing songs, I was at the first show and they went past curfew by like five minutes. Ryan said before OA that they were yelling at him

I was actually incredibly paranoid for the entire encore because I've been to other shows at the same venue where they literally cut the sound right at 11, I was convinced that was going to happen before they played OA and thought there was gonna be a riot lol. I already thought they were cutting it close going into the encore at like 10:53 but then when they came out and played With You Around before Only One my heart was racing lmao

Why dont these venues start the show earlier then? Looks like music starts at 7 for the Minneapolis show. They could probably start at 6 or 630 since there are 4 bands.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Because there’s a lot that goes into venue start times including bands. It’s not really a “oh just start a half hour earlier” thing that can just happen

I wasn't saying it's that easy. Was purely just wondering.

Like, in general, why do shows plan to go to 11 typically? Why not plan ahead of time to end at 10? Or at least in cities/venues that have a curfew. Why put the band in a position to need to cut songs because of it?

Im surprised given that they already delayed it once. I totally understand it’s out of their control but am still slightly annoyed. At least we still get the new songs on time!

A lot of the outdoor venues have very strict noise regulations specifically. The indoor venues have a bit more leeway at least from my understanding. But last week in Asbury Ryan basically said they had to keep it moving. Asbury Park has a 10pm noise ordinance and the venue will have issues if they don't adhere to it.

I don’t really mind delays as long as I’m kept updated on ETA’s. Communication is key. It’s the ones that get delayed and unless someone directly asks them, nothing is ever said about it that get me.

The traveling and construction/deconstruction of the tour and stage is tremendously time consuming. On a show with three openers, you have to consider the time required to deconstruct the stage from one show, travel, get all of the bands to the next venue, and set the stage up again from scratch - oh and eating, sleeping and doing anything else too. I agree that maybe they could start slightly earlier to give themselves some more room to breathe but otherwise this is pretty standard especially for a tour with 3 bands playing on it.

So stoked for the show tomorrow at Armory in Minneapolis. I love this venue.

i'm generally good with the physical delay as long as the digital still comes out the original time. it's pretty rare i actually listen to a record, (mostly bc my setup needs some upgrades, ha) but i typically buy physical music from my favorite bands as a form of support and just listen on streaming or whatever.

I was not expecting the level of visuals and lighting, it was off the charts! Found myself saying wooooww (insert Owen Wilson impression here) a lot!

I am speaking well beyond this tour. I am spending og all shows. And if all shows ended at 10, the time would between shows would remain the same. Nobody would lose time to complete things. Everything would just be moved up. I am asking why is this the standard? Why not shift everything an hour?

I gotta say, the only disappointing part of the show last night in Detroit, and this is a super small nitpick, was the visuals on the screens behind them. Just seemed like super generic, stock graphics or something and didn’t seem to be themed to the band or songs at all lol

Took nothing away from the show though. So damn good

Probably posted somewhere here but I can't find it. Anyone got the set times for each band? Also, is Emo Night an actual opener like a "normal band"? Or are they playing when doors open and then This Wild Life starts when the show actually starts?

  19. Yeah all 6700 people in Detroit last night were super bummed we only played 8 out of the 13 songs on the album. Maybe just be pumped that we are back on the road playing by the biggest shows of our career instead of literally accusing us of deceiving our fans. Absolutely unreal.

Do or do not, there is no try.

The set list is great and it’s very cool to see the band come back playing shows like these. Would absolutely love it if you guys find your way back over to the UK. Scotland in particular.

  21. There are no words to describe how we are feeling that could do justice to the experience. It’s so overwhelming and unbelievable. The positivity and unity within the band have never been at a higher level. Not at any point in our career. We decided to step away because, for example, we were struggling to sell out a venue like St Andrew’s in Detroit. It holds 900 people. Last night almost 7000 people showed up and completely filled an amphitheater. It just doesn’t compute at all, and we are only 7 shows in!

Every single person I spoke to in Detroit was absolutely overjoyed with how great of a night it was. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

Doors in Detroit last night were 5:30 and TWL played at 6:30. Emo Night Brooklyn are just two guys and a laptop on stage playing classic “emo” songs and trying to hype up the crowd in between sets. They didn’t go on until after TWL. Very much not my thing, super corny, but some people enjoyed it lol

That’s so great to hear! I’m sure like many here, music has helped me on so many ways in life. As a fan, you can only do so much to support the bands you love. It’s great to know a lot of people are supporting you guys now. You deserve it!
