If only the comic book industry had this. The recent #comicsbrokeme trend was unsurprisingly rough. Shout out to the unionized office workers at Image Comics and Seven Seas, and to people like the late Neal Adams who fought battles like this for comic creators.

 

The social media piece is interesting

 

That's pretty vague. Like they can't promote projects on podcasts and social media or they can't do them at all? Tons of working actors make their nut on podcasts to support being able to work as actors.

 

I was curious for stuff like interviews and podcasts, that is only of they do it to promote a project right? They can still do a podcast interview just as an individual unrelated to promoting anything right?

 

I think just promo like Hot Ones type stuff because I think 80% of Comedy podcasts are wga/sag at least haha

 

Yeah, I just saw the link at the bottom. They can't promote acting work on social media and podcasts.

 

Yeah I agree, I'm a little confused on the vagueness about social media. I'm guessing it's just promoting projects, because social media could be a valuable tool to communicate things about the strike

Strike is going to be super interesting from my side of things, working at an independent film studio, going to be really hard to promote our films! Obviously I stand with the actors and everything, but it's gonna be pretty interesting for my job for a while!!

 

I’ve been with my production company for 12 years and just told my boss I’m having a baby last week, which feels like great timing in that he’ll be guilted into paying me even if I’ve got nothing to work on for the rest of the summer
