I think we may get a rematch since Pantoja already stopped Royval unless they give Albazi the shot. I don’t think Albazi deserves a shot coming off a controversial decision win.

I would imagine Mike signed a 6 fight contract like most at his level coming into the UFC. He’s got one left on it, which would explain the desire to fight Conor/holding out for a big name. If he doesn’t win his next, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s his last. Probably wouldn’t get a great offer to resign off a 2-4 record.

He’s entertaining and puts on good fights though, so it would not shock me to see Volk vs Chandler if Conor doesn’t come back. If Volk wins, he earns his rematch and makes it hard for Makchev to deny it. They both make big money, and Chandler gets a match worthy of being his last on the contract. If he wins it, which would shock everybody, UFC would make him a solid offer and he’d stay in title contention.

 

I think Chandler could get lucky and actually get a title shot at 155 in October. Charles said he wouldn’t be ready and Volk should not fight that soon if he needs surgery. I assume Poirer/Gaethje beat the piss out of each other. If all that happens Chandler would probably be the likely choice to give the shot to regardless of if he deserves it for not because Islam is the huge draw for that card.

 

Don’t like his chances obviously. But he bet himself, stood up for himself and got what he wanted.

Jiri is still the champ in my eyes. Fought through the fire of Texeira’s current best to offer, and still finished him. Starched everybody else.

 

Yeah, I don't particularly care what they do in the interim. Jan/Alex for the title would be rad. But Jiri needs to have an immediate shot when he returns.

 

Said a long time ago that Jiri vs. Alex was my dream matchup, regardless of title implications. So I hope that fight materializes one way or another.

I honestly watched almost the whole card and then turned it off and went to bed when it was time for the main event lol.

I wasn’t going to watch another 25 minutes of wall-and-stall from Holm, so it’s sort of funny to me that she got caught in a choke while trying to employ that strategy.

 

Looks like Jan/Alex will remain a non title fight? And Jiri/Magomed has been mentioned as the possible vacant title bout for Abu Dhabi
