I'm working on a personal project instead of working, can anyone tell me the hardest bosses you've ever fought in games? If you see this late and don't wanna derail the thread feel free to DM me, just collecting opinions.

 

I mean hands down Malenia

The final boss in Sekiro

 

That would have required me to go back 5 pages, which of course I wouldn’t do

 

True final boss in the original Octopath was an absolute bitch. You have to fight every character's final boss in a gauntlet before facing him and there are no save points. It requires you to split your party in two, which assumes you've levelled everyone equally and have enough gear spread out between all 8 of them. Then you need to have an incredibly specific allocation of jobs/skills between the 8 of them, because they will be fighting two phases as separate parties and you absolutely need certain jobs/skills set up right to stand a chance.

I remember the first form can't even be damaged until you kill 3 parts of it, and their resistance changes and respawn every so often. The rest is kind of a blur as it's been like 4 years since I beat it, but it's the first that comes to mind.

Non-final boss? Probably the version of Seymour that zombifies your party, or the version of him on the mountain.

 

Those are the same version of Seymour but yeah that one was brutal

 

What if you read those five pages to begin with though?

 

My current hardest is Inner Father in Sekiro, followed by Sword Saint Isshin and Malenia probably at a tie. I just wanna know about as many "consensus hard as shit bosses" as possible and prefer firsthand accounts since Google isn't as clear as I'd like

I actually died far more to Radahn than I did Malenia. And it wasn't even close

 

Inner Father would be one for sure.

Malenia is somehow a boss that I only lost to like once to and only on her first form. I don't really know why

 

Deathstroke in Arkham Origins was fucking rough because it required timing and reflexes I very much don't have.

 

He was my first ever ragequit. Took me forever to beat the game cuz I put it down after dying to him so much.

 

The main reason Malenia isn't my #1 is how different the fight feels based on build. My first playthrough obviously I was less experienced but I also used weapons that were less than effective and the fight felt impossible (and wonderful). Recently I fought her using the magma sword you get from the wyrm and ripped her apart, and things like Blasphemous Blade are straight up broken against her. Just so many combos that work well to stagger her to oblivion, so the fight feels either semi-hard or impossible depending on that.

I still die to Malenia the most out of anyone in that game though outside of the Caelid bell bearing hunter.

 

The final boss of Yooka-Laylee is, like Gruntilda of Banjo-Kazooie, a multi-part marathon piece of shit.
