I was reading about Temple Of Doom, and Wiki has this excerpt from Amrish Puri's autobiography, Puri being the actor who played Mola Ram.

It's interesting to me the variety of perspectives people can have on a subject.

The biggest problem with those depictions in Temple of Doom is they don't really do a good job of stressing that the cult is separate from mainstream India. When you are a kid who doesn't know any better you walk away thinking that even the rich Indians are eating monkey brains.

I read another excerpt that the dinner scene was meant to be a gag, like "stupid foreigners think we eat this, so let's serve it to them", except they were too subtle about it.

Been a while since I've seen DS9, but I just love how over the top Lore is. Dukat is like Shakespeare, Lore is like the Joker.

If you have an old PC lying around make sure you fire it back up and play Indiana Jones and The Fate of Atlantis too. I've always heard that the Emperor's Tomb game from later on was good too but I never played that one.

I am only very vaguely familiar with Young Indiana Jones, having only caught a few episodes maybe as a young kid - how did you figure out the timelines? Are they grouped by season, like he's a little kid in a certain season and then a teenager in the next??

Meaning the filmmakers themselves were effing with the 'ignorant foreigners', or in the world of the movie the people at the palace wanted to eff with the 'ignorant foreigners' and so served them some weird food...???

I really don't think there's anything to support that in the actual movie though. It's a nice idea, but it really sounds to me like something they sorta came up with after the fact when people starting pointing out how problematic those scenes are.

I had completely forgotten about that one, but now that you mention it, I think I do too. I beleieve it was pretty Tomb Raider-esque, if I'm thinking of the right game.

the episode titles on Wikipedia are the month/year and location. Disney+ has the VHS collection cuts so it is just 22 hour long episodes in a single season, with two 30 minute episodes together.

Originally when it aired it would switch around between little kid episodes and teen Indy episodes. They way they have it on Disney+ it is chronological.

It depicts three eras in Indiana Jones' life: the two years he spent in 1909/1910 following his father around the world on a lecture tour. The time he spent traveling the world as a solider in the Belgian and French armies during WW1 from 1916-1918 where he spent time in every front of the war. The time he spent in the early 1920's back in America where that mainly involved Indy's adventures in the entertainment industry, there is a Jazz episode, a musical theatre episode, a golden age of Hollywood episode, ect

So Temple Of Doom is supposed to take place years before Raiders. At the end of Doom Indy is like "I believe in magic now!" and at the start of Raiders Indy is like "you know me In don't believe in that magic hocus pocus stuff!"...

That shows there was some very lazy writing going on with Doom.

Love when there’s a historical fictional character, and creatives look at them and go, “ok, but what if they were part of THIS famous event???”

"Titanic" and "Adventure" should never be used in the same sentence.

9/11 wouldn’t have happened if Indy was on that plane.
