Still haven’t seen it but I adored both The Lighthouse and The Northman

 

Pretty sure I first saw The Witch at like, 11 AM on a Saturday. I sorta remember someone bringing a small child to the showing

 

Just watched Rookie of the Year, holds up pretty well except for the part where they describe a 6th grade girl as being stacked

I thought White Noise was a good adaption. I didnt like it, but i didnt like it in the exact same way I didnt like the novel.

 

I loved White Noise although I haven't read the novel.

I also think Barbie looks fantastic and very fun. Who it was written and directed by definitely helps in terms of why I'm so excited for it but that's true of most new releases.

 

I wanted to go in as blind as possible so I'd avoided all Barbie promo until I saw the trailer today before Elemental and tbh I'm even more excited now

 

Im excited to see Barbie love Gergwig and the 2001 trailer was fantastic. I agree with Nathans comment about hypercapitalism, chaining yourself to IP will limit what critique is possible but all films made by giant studios and media corporations are made in that shadow. ill still probably have fun.

Usually I remember to do this in the middle of the month, so I say "I'll be sure to do it next month" but then the 15th rolls around again, etc etc. Buuut now it's only the 4th so I'm just a little bit late!

Have you not seen any of the trailers? I don’t know how you can say it looks godawful, or that anyone’s excitement for it is just ironic. Obviously the movie is expected to poke fun at a lot of Barbie stuff, but absolutely nothing I’ve seen from it makes me think it’s just some corny Barbie parody. The amount of detail they clearly put into it reminds me of the Lego Movie.

 

Banned in Vietnam for having the 9 dash line on a map apparently?

 

I truly think the trailer looks terrible and The Lego Movie is very very very very bad
