Yeah, I mean we heard Bought A Bride and Gasoline live before Daisy came out. I could see that happening. I don't know, I will even take just a year. The short clip of the coffee and riffs was enough to ramp up my hype again

 

I wish we knew if that clip was something from the new LP or just him messing around with guitar tones/sounds.

 

Am I the only one who would be completely content if Brand New never released a new album? They are easily one of my favorite bands, but at this point after years of anticipation, I don't feel anything when talks of a new album comes up with this band.

 

A year ago I was with you. But then we got Mene, they became super active, and at this point I expect it, so to not get one now if wig out haha

 

I did this on the last Canadian tour but couldn't afford it this time around :(... Totally worth it.

It was actually cool cause me and my cousin were front and center against the railing for both shows, and at our second show Jesse specifically thanked people who he had seen at multiple shows on that Canadian run. Felt like that's the closest thing to a shout out I'll ever get from Jesse Lacey haha

 

I was really hoping we'd see new material show up before the tour.

With how quickly Thrice is moving, it spoils me to somehow expect the Brand New camp to start moving again.

Can't believe it's been a year since Mene. I "knew" things were happening then, and now I feel just as far from new album as I did the day before the debut of Mene.

 

I mean you should still feel a little closer. With the procrastinate newsletter a few months ago flat out said we would get new material this year. I'm 100% positive it's coming, but I don't know if it will be before the tour. I hope at the very least an announcement by then.

 

I'd feel better if the P!MT email defined what they'd be releasing. If it actually said "LP" instead of it being undefined.

I'll have new Thrice to hold me over regardless.

I go a long time between album releases that I fall in love with.

I don't think I'd even be mad.... I would applaud the sheer Brand Newishness of it

 

That or a 7" with Degausser on both sides

 

It would be so awesome to hear Brand New cover any Zeppelin song. Would not complain with that

I would love something prior to the tour. With atleast some time to learn it before. Or maybe hearing it first live would be cool. Haven't had that yet. I just know that I'm loving this new site. Check here everyday. Hoping one of these days it will be an album release announcement. One can dream

 

Was that in two different cities or the same? Edmonton and/or Calgary?

My girlfriend is coming with me for the first show and when they added the 2nd Montreal show it was a no brainer for me to go for it. I will be flying solo for that show by choice so I can get real up close which I've never done before at a Brand New show.

 

Yeah you're exactly right! I went to Edmonton and Calgary. I also flew home early from a family vacation for those shows haha.

 

Has the band ever discussed why they avoid playing Noro and Daisy live?

I guess I can see why it might be difficult to pull off Daisy, but Noro does not seem to require as many tricks. It would be killer to see them close sets with it.

 

They have played Noro once or twice.

But I guess to answer your question, no the band has never addressed it. The band doesn't really address "things" lol

 

Noro has been played 6 times, Daisy has been played 5 times. Two of the plays for each is from the discography shows where the band played Daisy in full.

Off the top of my head, the only show in the Archive that features these songs is 12/20/13, which is a pretty eh recording overall.

Speaking of the Archive, was actually forwarded a few shows I didn't have. Will be listening and uploading a few in the coming days so stay tuned.

 

Interested in knowing what the best recording of Untitled is in the archive when they played it as an encore for awhile. Have it on my ipod which I hardly ever use anymore but wonder if there is a better recorded version out there.

Hm, I'd probably say 11/7/07, the first night of a two-night stand at the SOMA in San Diego. I recommend downloading this entire show, really. It's pretty good quality, but even if it weren't, the setlist has a ton of awesome stuffed into it: Untitled 01, Karma Police snippet, Not The Sun, Limousine, and the Untitled encore.
