  1. but imagine how inspirational and cinematic it's going to sound when an orchestra is playing during JT's speeches!

It’s a cool idea, curious to see how it plays out. Typical to see hating on it just because HH is involved and that’s the ‘cool’ thing to do. It’s something different than some album Anniversary tour or something.

    Fun must be always. Prestigious

all I remember is I saw Hawthorne heights once play next to this river in like some random ass town just because it was a 10 year tour or something it’s really a wild memory to think about

“when will these dorks stop doing anniversary tours”

*stop doing anniversary tour and do a successful run of festivals and an orchestra idea*

“This band needs to stop this shit”

Even if HH was completely removed from that it's still silly

emo nostalgia is just lame and it's lame to keep milking it when they had like, what, one song that anyone cared about back then

The Hawthorne Heights chatter confuses me. I always assumed that in a room of like, 300 people or whatever size venue they might headline on their own... That roughly 250 of those 300 would only be there to hear "Ohio is for Lovers," "NikkiFM" and "Saying Sorry." Which was why they do all those anniversary tours. (It also might explain why the dude apparently talks a ton between songs, TBH. "Shit, we have to fill 60 minutes and we have three songs that get a good response. Time for a speech!")

But am I wrong and they actually have people who would turn-out for a standard old HH set?

Anyway. I can't wait for the "nostalgia bubble" to burst. Stoked the bands can get paid, but hot damn, does it highlight how many people I know who are legit stuck in 2006 and haven't evolved. LOL

Let the past die. Kill it if you have to. It's the only way to become who you were meant to be.

i get the feeling more people are turning out to emo karaoke than they are to see hawthorne heights

I won't be attending which is why this is none of my business and doesn't bother me at all. There are all sorts of events like this for all sorts of artists and genres.

One thing I remember specifically about the date I went to is me and my girlfriend at the time, we made our list. Norma Jean and Evergreen Terrace were my number 1 and 2. While every band we wanted to see was done by like 5pm, except Evergreen Terrace was like the last band of the night at like 8 or 8:30 something like that. She didn’t want to wait the three hours and made us leave.

2008 was my second to last year attending Warped Tour. Line-up was wild and I remember being super annoyed that the Bouncing Souls and Street Dogs had overlapping sets. I ran between the two stages the entire time.

I also vividly remember being bummed that Gym Class Heroes got partially rained/thunder stormed out. But the upside was Story of the Year got a few extra minutes when things picked up again because they were ready to go the second they gave the bands the green light.

EDIT: Conversations like this really highlight how much older I am than a lot of folks in here. Haha.

Nostalgia bubble will never burst, it will just move on. In 2033, there will be "1975/Chvrches/Haim night" at your local bar or whatever.

  21. I have a few memories from that specific Warped Tour date:

    - 3OH!3 played and then Katy Perry played immediately after them on the small stage right next to theirs.
    - Angels & Airwaves had a huge meet and greet line that was only for Modlife subscribers (haha.) Tom was last in line, and was closest to their merch. The merch line was empty, and I didn't really want anything, but I just walked right up and said "Hey Tom." And he said hi, and then I asked him which shirt I should buy, and he picked out a shirt for me to get. So I did that and then that was that. I bought a shirt and met Tom for way less than a Modlife meet and greet package, so that was fun.
    - Gym Class Heroes did a Lamb of God cover and I was shocked by how good Travis screamed. I wanted them to record a studio version so bad!

I was just thinking about warped tour and how wild it was that I would wait all summer just for it to be in my town like a few weeks before school started again

I would just be watching fuse all day

There absolutely are. HH has a pretty dedicated fanbase. They just did a very successful tour with Armor for sleep where they headlined, and have a bunch of festivals they curated and run. Also their last two albums are maybe the best of their careers, and that’s not a hot take

Novel concept. Imagine that. I’ve always liked you for a reason :crylaugh:. Never understood why people have to hate comment and bash things that don’t effect or bother them at all. Like, so HH wants to do an anniversary tour/orchestra show/whatever. If you aren’t going or being charged for it, why do you care?
