I'll send you both my wishlist from AirBnB and VRBO for down there along with the place we actually booked. Please be aware that there is a wide range of prices on here, as at one point we were looking at a place for a bigger group.

The place we booked was not exactly cheap, like $250 a night but they give you damn near everything from firewood to cooking oil so there is convenience factor plus I am sucker for cool looking spots and they have a trail system on the grounds and a hot tub/fire pit setup that looks sick.

 

Also a great spot to check out, though I had a fucking panic attack on some hike that an ex had me to do where we went on some unofficial park trail and we got into a situation where I thought she would not be able to get down from where we were. Probably one of the most anxiety ridden hikes I have done, do your research before you pick an unofficial trail to do. Think it was Cloudsplitter I remember correctly.

 

i remember the first time i went up there, someone warned me there were mountain lions roaming around so my dumb kid brain was super anxious the whole time lmfao

I am going to Hocking Hills for the first time ever in August, but I am staying at The Lodge like a civilized gentleman.

 

Let me know how that is! It's super new I believe and I was looking at staying there but what they had available did not fit for when we were going.

Coolest part of this where are your boys book so far outside of the Jason Tate cameos is Eminem apparently knowing the titles of multiple Dashboard Confessional songs in 2002 lol

 

Its pretty much the easiest driving and coolest "hiking" spot you can get in the Great Lakes area without having to go to the UP of Michigan. I know Wisconsin has some similar areas as well but does not seem to be as cool nature wise. It's like a four hour drive from my front door to our spot we are staying.

 

there just happens to be a lot of rust belters/ohioans round here
